Poison: ongbok: Poison: UCFRoadWarrior: These were all post-1970s....the best was the Dr J poster where he is airborne and about ready to slam on some stiff. Priceless

Remember that Dr. J poster. Thankfully I had none of the ones on this list. And to quote The Lopper: "Jim Everett? General Blade?" WTF indeed.

Or how about the poster of Shawn Kemp dunking on Pippen, were he is so high in the air he is basically sitting on Pippen's shoulder. Tried to find it on Google but couldn't.

All I could find was this one, which Rodman may have been enjoying:

[2.bp.blogspot.com image 232x400]

That's not the one I was talking about, but I remember that game. Rodman actually walked under Kemp when he dunked that and was trying to bridge him.

I only had the bash brothers. Now if it was a Cindy Crawford poster question I had all of them.

Correct-now I remember that poster you were talking about. Before Kemp weighed 400 pounds.

We had a Kemp poster in college but I can not find it online. Damned luck.

Who's that skinny guy with a regular-sized head beside José Canseco and under the "Mark McGwire" lettering?

2012-02-23 12:02:37 PM
TheLopper: I had the Bermuda Triangle with Singletary, Marshall and Wilson.

Hilarious that it showed a guy in green and gold wearing #4, although the timing wasn't right for it to be you-know-who.

Speaking of Packers QBs, I vote for #13 as the stupidest.

2012-02-23 12:03:40 PM
Weird. Jordan never had a problem getting past the Madison Square Guardian.

2012-02-23 12:12:31 PM
I remember having a basketball poster in the 80s called "Dream Team - Made in Heaven" with 5 players on it (IIRC) Jordan, Johnson, Bird, Wilkins, and I forget the 5th player. Anyone else remember this one?

2012-02-23 12:13:50 PM
Not one, thank god.

2012-02-23 12:23:47 PM
Yeah.. I dont see how most of the Jordan posters were bad, especially #11?

/Barry Sanders can do no wrong in my book.

2012-02-23 12:27:45 PM
Doc Daneeka: Not really his fault. It was the Bills offense's fault that they couldn't get farther down the field on that final drive. But Norwood has become the scapegoat.

Oh I completely agree. To be honest in re-watching the game over and over again, it's continually clear that it's Jim Kelly's fault for not giving the ball to Thurman Thomas 25 times. Belichick's gameplan relied on Kelly being stubborn about running the ball since he called all the plays, and it worked.

I had this two-sided poster on a window:

2012-02-23 12:32:42 PM
Zero.

However, I remember seeing some of these way back when, especially the Iceman/Nike one that was linked.

2012-02-23 12:35:11 PM
Wettner: Why is the Jordan one flying through the air bad? It's still looks pretty cool to me.

Most of the Jordan posters are awesome. I think I knew at least 15 kids in grade school with the Wings poster. (Wasn't it free with Wheaties or something?)

2012-02-23 12:35:34 PM
Had at least three of the SI posters: Barry Sanders, Larry Bird and one of the dunk posters of MJ, think it was the 3/4 shot with the tongue out and the legs back

2012-02-23 12:36:10 PM
I was wondering why there weren't many hockey posters, so I did a GIS for hockey posters. This one made me angry.

Not only did I have the Bash Brothers poster, and still do have it in storage, but it was also signed by Canseco and Mcgwire. I also had every Jordan poster especially the ones of him posterizing Ehlo. This one is my favorite.

Yeah, what a moment. Gotta be one of the biggest first round playoff victories EVER by a team that was ousted in the very next round. Whoooo!

2012-02-23 12:44:48 PM
bgddy24601: I was surprised by the Dale Ellis poster. Especially since it is just him in some generic green sweats being creepy.

Silent Assassin pfft. They should have called him the Invisible Man the way he would disappear in the playoffs.

doubled99: Yeah, what a moment. Gotta be one of the biggest first round playoff victories EVER by a team that was ousted in the very next round. Whoooo!

Yeah, the nerve of some people being excited about a moment that:

a) was the first playoff series win for the Bulls in 7 years

b) was the first in a series of steps that eventually built a team that won 6 titles in 8 years

In conclusion, you're a moron.

I grew up in the 80's and remember sports posters well. The one I always remember most is the George Gervin "Iceman". Not that it was the best or that I was a fan, it just stuck with me for some reason.

Big farking deal unless you were a diehard bulls fan

b) was the first in a series of steps that eventually built a team that won 6 titles in 8 years
Wow! Hey! Everyone remember the Lakers' 1979 first round playoff win? No? Oh.
In conclusion, you're a moron.
2 idiotic points that and you're already "in conclusion"

also have no perspective on sports other than commercials and ESPN promos. The moment is only remembered because it's Jordan.
Why don't you stick to youtube?

Wow. There's really no need to stick around and talk to you, because you've just made the most asinine (and incorrect) generalization imaginable.

You wanna know how screwed up it was growing up a Buffalo sports fan? Super Bowl XXV was my first vivid memory of watching and caring about a sports event on TV. I was 8.

I do have an earlier memory of attending a Sabres game at the old Memorial Auditorium. Although I couldn't tell you who they were playing or whether they won or lost - at the time, I was mostly fascinated by the atmosphere of the crowd and how cool the building was.

If I had known about that Andre Dawson poster, 8-year-old me would have been all over that shiat.

ongbok: But what I also think is funny is how many of those posters feature the players with guns. Today you would never see that on a poster.

Man that is the ultimate Wade Boggs poster isn't it? Functional and boring; "This is Wade Boggs, he is a baseball player". That poster is a line drive single to the third base side.

What was wrong with the Bo Jackson Ball Player one (#45)? Fairly understated and it was in sophisticated black and white which makes it art.

/Where were any NASCAR posters?

I had this one.

There was an awesome Lawyer Milloy and Ty Law "Law Firm" poster I wanted when I was younger. Mom and Pa wouldnt go for it.

I ripped that Bledsoe one off of my wall after the 96 Superbowl. God he sucked in big games. I wanted the Law Firm one as well, but never ended up getting it.

I also had the Jordan one from the link where it looks like he's flying to the rim from the free throw line. I still think it looks awesome.
