Remember to check your mirrors while back pedaling.

I Corinthians 13:12

Someone believes differently than me, I must unleash the jackass. You hate people having faith we get it. Your so edgy. Seriously, quit Evangelizing. You're why people dislike atheists.

Allen262:

The Mothership AKA ESPN shoved him down areour throat telltill we got sick of him. Soon people will be hating Lin too.

That hurt my brain, so I fixed it.

Anyway, what ESPN does has nothing to do with him. He's not a producer. Hate ESPN if you must hate someone.

PhiloeBedoe: nopokerface: PhiloeBedoe: Maybe good deeds can be done just for the sake of a good deed, no Jesus necessary.

Says the guy who used the bible to disparage the man's good act.....

No disparagement intended. He did a wonderful, beautiful thing. And Jesus had nothing to do with it. By pointing out that certain Biblical teachings might condemn this unselfish act I'd hoped to make the case that one need not look towards outdated belief systems for moral guidance.

"It's all real. Think about it. Haven't Luke Skywalker and Santa Claus affected your lives more than most real people in this room? I mean, whether Jesus is real or not, he--he's had a bigger impact on the world than any of us have. And the same can be said for Bugs Bunny and--and Superman and Harry Potter. They've changed my life--changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us." - Kyle Broflovski

Whatever inspires us to be good people. I take inspiration and ethical advice from the works of Plato and Aristotle and that's some pretty dated stuff.

Yes but you don't blindly follow them or whatever "rules" they may lay down. That is exactly what is expected of Christians.

Well, good for the Tebow. He makes it impossible for me to hate him as much as I'd like too. As a lifelong Denver Broncos fan let me explain why I fail to appreciate him.

1. He cannot play. He currently is the QB of the Broncos because he was overdrafted, the Broncos have nobody else, and he is really popular because of reasons outside of his football skills.
2. The Tebowists. An extremely loud and obnoxious group of people, most of whom are nothing but Bronco bandwaggoners who like him for reasons outside of his football skills.
3. The media hype. He receives a crazy amount of hype and attention for reasons that have nothing to do with his football skills.
4. His religion. This is personal thing for me having grown up around a bunch of violent and ignorant evangelicals. His decision to associate with focus on the family, a stupid and ignorant group, was a redline for a lot of people.

Don't hate Tebow. Hate the awards show itself.

First off, why do we need sports awards shows? We have sports awards. They're called MVP. All-Star. World Champion. Olympic Medalist. Why we need awards on top of these is a mystery to me.

Second off, if your awards show contains categories such as "Gnarliest Newb", "Alti-Dude", and "That's How I Roll", stop. Just stop. Stop, take a step back, and re-examine what the fark happened in your life to make you do something that awful.

You talking about the guy that took over a 1-5 team, won his division, then beat the Steelers in the playoffs? The guy that averaged over 30 yards per completion in that play off game?

I'm talking about the guy that went 1-4 down the stretch, completed 46% of his passes and got his ass handed to him by the Pats in that play off game.

Well since he believes in Jesus, and lives his life according to Jesus' teachings, I'd say Jesus had everything to do with it.
