A colder planet, which is the most likely climate scenario, will cause famine...

All this news is doing is hastening my plan to drink myself into liver failure so I don't have to be around as long.

I've been saying this for years, but has anyone listened? No, they've been assuring me how wrong I was because blah blah blah and I'm not a scientist...

I am so going to laugh in the upcoming drought-caused famine, watching you all die of malaria.

This has been the mildest winter in living memory so far and not surprisingly we've also had the most sick days taken to this point in the year at my company. The cold is good for killing off the weak things that cause human missery.

Personally, I thought that whole plotline sucked. I'll stick with my first edition of the RPG. Never played the CCG, though might if I had anyone local who did.

Just crank up the air conditioning.
After all, we'll have plenty of oil forever, to fire up the power stations.

dslfobia: A colder planet, which is the most likely climate scenario, will cause famine...

In 1200 c.e. it was substantially warmer than today, Viking longboats transversed the Northwest passage and named what is now Labrador as "Vinland--" the place where grapes grow. Culture flourished, it was a prosperous time.

Four hundred years later it was so cold it was called "The Little Ice Age:" Boston Harbor froze solid for the first time in history, wars were won and lost on the assumption that armies could not cross frozen rivers, crops failed due to shortened growing seasons--it was a miserable time.

We are currently at the peak of a 400-year hot cycle so it is not surprising it is warm---it is warmer in July than in January. However there is no reason for it to last, and with all our seeds custom-blended to thrive in abnormally hot temperatures, compounded by 7 billion people and more being born every day, I feel very hard times are coming soon.

Global Warming , er, Climate Change -is there anything it can't do?

I've had more boxelder bugs in my house this winter than ever before. I'm still finding them. Michigan.

Jellyfish Heaven
Is full of dead

I've had fewer in western NY; also hardly any snow all winter.

The question was: "What is the point of us trying to increase government spending on ourselves when it's already necessary that we own all the world's governments and scientists in order to construct this elaborate, world-wide conspiracy theory?"

Population is the thing no politicians these days mention. It's all about being green, which isn't bad, but it's not about getting down to root causes which have been well understood for years (new window). It's not only various religious pressures; it's likely many large organizations are helped by continually expanding consumer bases for their products.

In your neck of the woods. The human popsicles in most of middle, southern and eastern europe would disagree.

If snowfall stays pitiful here in Minnesota, there is going to be a nasty drought. At least our state bird, The Mosquito, gets a population hit during droughts. Though they rebound with a vengeance in the year after -_-
Heard a stat that says so far this winter is in the top 5 of least amount of snowfall for Minnesota. Pretty crazy as we are the ones that usually get the Icestormageddon.

How can we sit here and allow repugnantcans and teabaggers continue to ruin our environment? This has to end, I for one don't want my many children to grow up in a hot desolate tick-filled future. This can be laid right at the feet of large corporations and the fat cats who run and staff them, they're killing all of us.

Holy shiat, It's really that easy to sound like a complete dope. All you have to do is look at an article and whip yourself up into a frenzy. Start laying the blame on real causes or most likely causes, then edit out those very causes and replace them with any of the varied names for the political party you don't agree with.

I'll try again but with a more literary flair.
How can we sit here and allow repugnantcans Thing 1 and teabaggers Thing 2 continue to ruin our environment? This has to end, I for one don't want my many children to grow up in a hot desolate tick-filled future. This can be laid right at the feet of large corporations the Lorax and the fat cats the Cat in the Hat who runs and staffs them, they're killing all of us.

You could also include Voldemort, daleks, Darth Vader, Frumious Bandersnache, or just make shiat up. It's fun for the whole family.

Let's see...

Tea Party: Want less government spending and to be left to live by their own means.

OWS: Want the government to implement massive taxes so they can live off other peoples money

Tell me, which one is a parasite?

And speaking of parasites, I wonder if the various cases of lice have cleared up for the OWS people.

Seriously?

How about you recognize that these are people, regardless of their idiocy or not, who want change in American politics, and that, as a whole concept, is not entirely bad. Darnit. What if these folks got together, shed their predisposed hatreds, and formed a new folk focused on local food, local love, and local politics?

What, then?

;)
