I mean, seriously...how long are we supposed to keep pretending the Republicans are a viable group of people we should be taking seriously?

What else is it going to take?

I for one think it's good that we have a candidate that is embracing our new alien overlords. Very progressive.

Yeah wouldn't it be strange someone running for president believing in aliens. Or that you could become a god and rule your own planet?

Mormon cosmology teaches that the Earth is not unique, but just one of many inhabited planets,[25] each planet created for the purpose of bringing about the immortality and "eternal life" (i.e., the highest degree of salvation) of humanity.[26] These worlds were, according to doctrine, created by Jesus. Mormon leaders and theologians have taught that these inhabitants are similar or identical to humans, and that they are subject to the Atonement of Jesus.

The doctrine of other worlds is found in LDS scripture, in the Endowment ceremony, and in the teachings of Joseph Smith, Jr. In addition, many LDS leaders and theologians have elaborated on these principles through exegesis or speculation, and many of these ideas are widely accepted among Mormons.

Oh wait.

One thing amusing is the more you read about Mormonism and it's history the more you realize it was Scientology of it's time.

I dont see why believing in aliens is such a stretch just based on the sie and scope of the universe. Why would we have the SETI program? Becoming a God and ruling your own planet? Now you are venturing into the realm of the guy on the History channel (Im not saying it was aliens....but its aliens) or Bender

Favorite Weekly World News article: Benji (the dog) was gay and he died of AIDS. It goes on at length about how he caught AIDS on the set of O Heavenly Dog, and his favorite dogs were Bull Mastiffs.

He squandered his fortune on unsubstantiated cures in foreign countries and when he died, "he was found clutching a tiny medal of St. Bernard."

Now that's a group of writers who were stuck inside on a rainy day. Brilliant.

Me neither. But that's not the same as what Mormon doctrine. Saying "their are aliens" and saying "Aliens which we call gods populated our plant and others for our souls to be saved" I would say is a bit different.
