Yes, Republicans run Santorum and it's game over for their chances at the White House (although it is not like they'll have much luck with Romney either).

From distance, Santorum doing great. Values really do count in America, and not sneered at as in parts of Europe. Win Michigan game over.

Values like being twice divorced and currently married to a woman 40 years your junior? Values like overseeing a company that spies on people? Values like trying to buy elections?

Okay I get it, the guy's insane but do we really need to greenlight an article about him every hour?

As devastating as it would be to Romney, I don't think it will be enough to get a sufficient number of people to slide over to Santorum.

I love that he throws Europe under the bus

I hope no other countries notice what kind of "values" are being espoused by this idiot. That would be really embarrassing for us.

Possibly, but if enough people think Romney can't beat Santorum, they might not show up in the later primaries/caucuses, so Santorum would win because of a lack of real competition.

Which from an entertainment perspective would be hilarious since Santorum would become more of a true believer and double, nay quadruple down on the social issues stuff.

Remember back in 2005 when Accu-Weather "gave" Rick $5000, and the same WEEK Rick introduced a bill to restrict the National Weather Service to only give data to private weather companies?

It might be good to have a president in office that can be bought for so little. Us little people might have a shot at getting a voice in government for a change.

Or not.

Buying a Senator for 5k is an incredible deal, even if he was the dumbest and frothiest of the 100.

It's all about the herp a derp. GOP has taken a hard right. The problem is that American Politics is like a bridge with no guardrails. You go too far one way, and off cliff you go.

You have to respect the value of our elections, you'll never find better deals when buying a politician.

Murdoch's just trolling. Santorum getting the nomination would be the best thing for him, as a Republican actually winning the election would completely screw up FoxNews' business plan.

I just want to watch the rich, white morman cry when he realizes that not even his quarter of a billion dollar fortune can make him white enough to be President running as a Republican.

It just makes a mockery of their whole "Prosperity will allow you to rise to the highest..." thing they always preach.

It's funny as all hell.

If Mitt can't beat a 3rd rate candidate like Rick Santorum in his home state with a 20:1 money advantage you're pretty much useless as the "most electable" candidate. The GOP machinery will finally realize that Mitt is a lame horse that needs to be put behind the barn and shot.

They'll concede the Presidency and let Obama have the swing states, shift to social issues, try to energize the base enough to win the Senate races on their home turf in Montana, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and Virginia to try to re-take control of the Senate.

That is sounding more and more like the Democrats of 1972. When Nixon won his landslide he lost Congress. Obama will probably get a second term but with a GOP Congress. At least there is no Watergate for Obama.

The House is always unpredictable, but the chances of keeping the Senate look fairly poor for the Democrats. However, I dunno if nominating King Derp helps the Republicans in their quest for the Senate, even in the red states.

If Romney takes the nom they can hold onto the House and maybe take the Senate.

If Santorum wins, they could end up kissing the House goodbye as all the downticket races benefit from the turnout from a highly motiviated "OH SHIAT!" Democratic base and the moderates that decide elections.

Michigan is an open primary and this libtard is going to vote Santorum. ecch. Hope I don't get any on me.

I really doubt it will be over the Republicans if Santorum gets the nod. All this "women are merely cattle" will be forgotten as the Republicans shout from the rooftops in unison "It's Obama's fault that the gas prices are at $4.50!!!" this summer.

No, I'm not gonna help you. You're gonna help him, man. You're gonna help him. I mean, what are they gonna say when he's gone? 'Cause he dies when it dies, when it dies, he dies! What are they gonna say about him? He was a kind man? He was a wise man? He had plans? He had wisdom? Bullshiat, man! And am I gonna be the one that's gonna set them straight? Look at me! Look at me! Wrong!

And when Republicans move to block release fuel from the strategic oil reserve?

You know it's going to happen.

Personally, I blame the improving economy for the gas price increase as well as Iran's posturing.

Geotpf: However, I dunno if nominating King Derp helps the Republicans in their quest for the Senate, even in the red states.

"Values Voters", aka "Neanderthals" are one of the most dependable voting blocks in the GOP. They won't get Ricky "Butt Sex Booga Booga!" Santorum elected, but they will turn out in force at the ballot box locally and that will translate to the smaller races going Red.

This is the now the new plan. Book it, done.

Mittens turns off the brand name religotards, poll after poll has proven this, and that means lower Hillbilly turn out for local races Frothy/Fecal however, while never going to win the presidency, at least fires up Ma and Pa Jeebus4Ever to get off their fat asses and get to the voting booth and pull the Elephant lever straight down the row.

Rick Santorum wins Michigan
Momentum for Santorum carries over into a strong Super Tuesday
Around mid-March, Republicans start having second thoughts, realizing Santorum is a nut and has no chance of possibly winning the Presidency.
Momentum starts to swing back to Romney.
The last few primaries end, with neither Romney or Santorum having a winning majority, leading to a brokered convention.
At the convention, many delegates reveal themselves to be Ron Paul supporters, and vote for Paul.
Having no other major viable candidate, the republican base finally gives in a settles for Paul, who by now is the only candidate without awful poll numbers against Obama.
Your Republican nominee: Ron Paul

/probably not, but it's not like there are any better scenarios.
