300 units of alcohol every 45 minutes?

Well... I could cut back...

Fantastic. Was sufficient to draw my attention away from the gladiator sequence in Conan the Barbarian.

It always amazes me how rhythmic/hypnotic the BBC-reporter cadence is. You can tell where they are in the story by how they end their sentences. Hard to describe, but easy to recognize. Good stuff, subby.

I was dying laughing, an uncontrolled, full laugh when the "how much alcohol" sequence came up. "That's already a rule in Scotland."

Beautiful contribution to my day, Subby.

That's just a guideline.

Great, there goes the rest of my night. So much for getting enough sleep. Thanks a lot, subby!

I really want to see the footage of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton urinating on Boris Johnson.

Does this mean there's something wrong with me?

/I bet she's a leg lifter

"The British Prime Minister is a posh English queen"

I was able to stifle my giggles until that one. I'm dying over here . . .

The part that makes me cry is with Colin Powell. He destroyed any chance of national leadership with that UN trip. He sold the whole goddamn thing. He was reluctant, he knew it was wrong, and he followed his orders.

I don't think I've ever seen someone I've respected so highly fall so fast.

That was my feeling about that, too. I felt personally betrayed by that, because I'd admired him so much up to then. I was one of those McCain/Powell folks, before both of them betrayed my trust and admiration.

I wasn't very impressed with Powell's son, either, who chaired the FCC for awhile. I was lobbying on media ownership restrictions at the time, and there he sat, all the while knowing full well that his dad owned $10M in media stock, which he stood to eventually inherit at appreciated value. But he didn't seem to think there was any conflict of interest there.
