When did that become news in Wisconsin?

Nothing to see here. It's about government employee unions. Again.

totally off topic; i want to go to wisconsin dells in may; is that feasible? or is it still to cold to enjoy the water parks? when (if not may) is a good time to go?

The video includes this gem about his sister-in-law:

"I heard she gives a good hummer."

That's going to make Thanksgiving dinner a little uncomfortable this year.

Late May should be fine...then again, it could snow.

It's still going to be chilly, at least in the water. Really, you should wait until late June or early July before going to a water park in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, that's when their busiest.

The dells also has indoor waterparks now. Many of the "resorts" have wave pools and slides indoors. Attractions such as the Ducks and the ski shows are not until late spring/summer.

Noah's Ark opens May 26. With WI weather, it could be 90 and humid, or it could be freezing rain. I see others have mentioned indoor waterparks. If you stay at the Kalahari, there's no need to go to Noah's Ark, really. If you stay at what was once Family Land, now Mount Olympus, you have a wide range of water attractions but also roller coasters and go karts, along with some indoor facilities.

Now see THAT I could believe. WI is the only place I've ever heard the phrase "Oh, No I'm not drinkin' tonight, so just gimme a beer"

Then again a lot of my time in WI was spent at a biker bar called "The Wildlife Refuge" the kinda place that would sell you beer by the glass OR the keg, and let you haul up fifty-odd month-old Christmas trees and have a bonfire in their firepit while drinking said beer

Too cold dude. Myself, I wouldn't go to a water park (too many kids) but if I did it would be in July or August.

Another vote for Mount Olympus here. Went there several years ago with the family and it was a lot of fun. I'd wait till mid-June to go though it will be crowded.

Back to the topic at hand, my man problem is that the mayor can't handle his booze. We Wisconsites won't tolerate a leader who can't out-drink us!

Bob Ryan lost the recall election last night, just FYI...

July or August.

But they do have indoor parks now too.

It seems like you're cutting yourself off from about half of what there is to do in the Dells if you go too early. It's good to know about the indoor attractions, though.

Unless it has changed, most of the water parks don't even open until Memorial Day weekend, and by then the weather shouldn't be too bad. We are having a very mellow winter.

Not much will be open until Memorial Day; although it depends on where you're staying. You will get a break however that the place should be mostly deserted since the FIB's won't hit town until at least the middle of June (at least when I worked there). Actually if you see someone with an Illinois plate, treat them like the devil incarnate behind the wheel. Also, if you speak an eastern European language you might also get further with servers and lifeguards.

/Always love playing "Import or Domestic" when i get back up there.

Blue Spruce and several other varities are sold as "fire resistant" by most Christmans tree sellers. And IF they are kept peoperly watered, they're okay at that, but once they dry up: I've never seen anything burn as fast or as hot

No they won't, spotting tourists from yokels is easy; they have all of their teeth. As a former local let me say to the outta towners, don't wander north of Chubby's or even try to make sense of those freakin' roundabouts they put on 12 past the outlet mall. The casino was dumpy enough, they didn't need to make it harder to get to.

I'm local. Some visitors blend in.

No cams. No flip-flops. No Bermuda shorts.

If you have a herd of children, you're doomed.

Try the go-carts. The secret is to floor the gas and never use the brake. Watch a couple of rounds. You'll figure out which carts are the fastest.

I suggest 1st weekend in June before a lot of the tourists arrive. All the waterparks are open then. Get to Noah's Ark early to hit up the rides while the lines aren't too long.

Never heard that, but it's funny.

I don't even remember what the limit is anymore. That's how old I am and how little I care.

It should be 18. We ask them to have their arms and legs blown off for people who don't even care about what we're doing for them. Why shouldn't they have a beer?

It's pronounced She'Vegas.

/born and raised

As far as I know in Wisconsin it is still legal for underage drinking in bars as long as parents, spouse, or guardian is with them and the owners permits it.

Subby?

It became a bad thing after he was taped last winter in a bar, drunk, talking about his sister-in-law and described her as 'nice but a little "meaty" around the edges'.

Yeah, really.
