Billionaire Sheldon Adelson says he might give $100M to Newt Gingrich or other Republican candidate, depending on which one grovels best. Go ahead, just put that right out there in the open like that, a test to see if anybody even cares

It could be helpful in the end. With the hearing about Montana's law coming up, a bold move like this could expose the actual corruption of the democratic process via this citizens united ruling and sway a justice to change their position. Who knows?

Good god, another $100 million? Where does all that money go to?
Probably right into the pockets of the already rich owners of big media. Can you imagine how much of difference it would make in the economy if this money was spent buying goods and services from the middle class?

Not sure if this was meant as a joke. (Gingrich is something of a charity case, after all.)
If not, though, there's no charitable deduction for donations to SuperPACs and similar organizations. Charitable deductions exist only for 501(c)(3) nonprofits (to varying degrees depending on whether the donee is a public charity or a private foundation), which are not allowed to engage in political activities in support of or opposition to a candidate for office (so SuperPACs can never be 501(c)(3)s). SuperPACs are nonprofit organizations, but not all nonprofits are charities (most are not).

"So the criticisms that he's trying to personally buy the presidential election for Newt Gingrich are met with a roll of the eyes. "Those people are either jealous or professional critics," Adelson tells me..."
Notice how he doesn't actually DENY that he's buying the Presidency? He just accuses the rest of us for somehow being "jealous" because WE can't buy a Presidency. What a douchenozzle A-hole.
He's the king of self-contradiction, too. He whines and moans about Obama, throws the "Socialist" card out as often as possible(Although in reality a Socialist government would have stopped him from having his net worth increase more than ANY OTHER American during its Administration). Then he follows up with this:
"I don't believe in negative campaigning. I believe in saying that my opponents are very good people and I'm confident a lot of them would do a good job, but I would do a better job, and here's why,"
.
Of course, I shouldn't be surprised since this is also the A-hole who says that he doesn't believe in people donating huge amounts, but that he's ok with doing it himself.
What a tool. Jesus, when will someone reclaim the Right?

Mr. Adelson:
"What scares me is the continuation of the socialist-style economy we've been experiencing for almost four years. That scares me because the redistribution of wealth is the path to more socialism, and to more of the government controlling people's lives."
Mr. Adelson, do you have Fox News just piped directly to your brain stem? Exactly what part of the economy's operation has struck you as being socialist? The phrase "redistribution of wealth" you're so fond of jangling like chains in the attic actually applies to the farce of Reaganomics, as 30 years of cash has been sucked away from people who actually need it and redistributed to those who really don't.
Oh, and I REALLY hate it when people like him use the word "scared." That's just a pandering attempt to stir up sympathy for his cause among the masses. Someone with his wealth isn't scared of anything. Quit lying, you bastard.

The man whose net worth, by Forbes' calculations, has jumped more ($21.6 billion) during the Obama administration than any other American - Mark Zuckerberg included - wants to take the president out for economic reasons."What scares me is the continuation of the socialist-style economy we've been experiencing for almost four years. That scares me because the redistribution of wealth is the path to more socialism, and to more of the government controlling people's lives. What scares me is the lack of accountability that people would prefer to experience, just let the government take care of everything and I'll go fish or I won't work, etc."
So, he's complaining about Obama's zomg soshilist economy, where his wealth jumped up by 21.6 billion in 4 years. Tell me... in what socialist country can a single person make 5 billion a year?
If he was a country by himself, he'd have a GDP higher than about 40 countries on this planet. Yeah. Socialism. Right.

I used to work for Sheldon at one of his Strip Properties. It was THE worst casino job I ever had. I miss the money, but after I was fired for telling a manager to start acting like a manager, I swear I skipped out of there like a little girl who was told that she was getting a pony for her birthday.
If it wasn't for Adelson bad habit of firing people on the spot all the time for looking at him funny, we might've opened on time. And why Homeland Security hasn't raided the place is beyond me.I'm pretty sure with all the illegal aliens they hired no-questions-asked, there's got to be a couple dozen Zetas on the property.
During the 2008 election, we hosted the Republican Party Election night Victory Party. They were giving away sock monkeys with nooses around their neck. After Obama was declared the winner, the young Republicans got drunk and stupid and started harassing all the non-white employees.

Political contributions are not tax deductible. That said, a good tax lawyer could put together a non profit that advocates societal change in non-partisan way that you could support with your funds and if, oh my, you happened to inadvertently promote one individual's political aspirations in the process -
