In case anyone is interested, or hasn't seen it, here is the Hockey Night in Canada 2011/2012 NHLPA poll. (new window). The results are on the main/linked page, you just have to scroll down a bit.

Another question is: will anyone watch Sabres/Isles? Probably not.

Congrats on the green light, it's pretty amazing that we get a hockey thread on a Tuesday.

I despise Vancouver and I'm not to fond of Nashville the way they've manhandled my Blackhawks this year.

Seems like everyone hates Vancouver.

When I was in Chicago, the guy working the desk at the hotel turned out to be a Canucks fan (he was born in Chicago, but spent a couple years living in Vancouver so he became a fan). When I asked him "Do people give you a hard time since Blackhawk fans don't like the Canucks?" He replied with "Nobody likes the Canucks."

It's true. The rest of Canada was against us in the finals, most teams in the West don't like us.

I think Buffalo is still cool with the canucks though, expansion cousins that we hardly see.

That only exists in your head. Either that or you're confusing the homer opinion of a random Blackhawk fan you met on-line with popular sentiment. Seriously, there hasn't been an anti-Datsyuk crowd in years. He's widely held as one of the elites in the game.

9beers: Quincey started with Detroit and was cut loose after failing to impress. I can see a lot of pissed of Wings fans if they gave up a first round pick for him.

That's factually incorrect. He was cut loose because they didn't feel they could justify bringing him up after winning a cup with Lilja and Lebda as their bottom pairing, plus Meech was higher on the depth chart. Based on Quincey's tenure, they could not send him to Grand Rapids for another season. They had to either sign him to a one-way, or cut him loose.

Much to my chagrin, they cut him loose and hung on to the Twin Towers of Turnover (i.e. Lilja and Lebda). Nice to see Qunicey headed back to Detroit as a non-rental player. Doubly nice to see the Avs make a stupid trade to facilitate it.

I was hoping the St. Louis thing stays quiet for awhile, it's been almost like a secret.

You ain't kiddin'. I went down to STL for a weekend last year to catch Blues/Blackhawks on Friday night, followed by Blues/Pens. The Blues swept the weekend (including a crazy 1-0 OT win over the Pens). On Saturday night the game was pretty empty...but when we went for drinks after the game, the bars were packed wall to wall with people watching the Mizzou b-ball season opener. Crazy.

Got me. I think they've got all their injured guys back so maybe they're just starting to gel? They had a metric sh*t ton of injuries for a big part of the season so with all the new guys it really hurt their chemistry.

I think the Canucks are still well liked in Ottawa. There are enough transplants to generously pepper the stands w/ blue and green (such a contrast to the red). If you'd stop beating the snot out of the Sens in your yearly visit, I might actually enjoy that game when I go with my Vanfan girlfriend.

Plus, we can share in the sorrow of recent disappointing Cup runs (though the Sens don't have the Game 7 heartbreak you share with your Albertan step-siblings)

Yet Nabokov is running a 2.24 GAA and .925 SV% this season for the Isles.

I highly doubt the Canucks think of Nashville as pushovers, especially after our 7 game playoff series. They're a damn good team.

Not complaining about his overall performance and I hope he signs an extension, but the Islanders have been big on putting themselves in an early hole all year. Though I don't remember how much of that came from Montoya/DP/Poulin.

Canucks are just starting an ugly road trip, and they have already been lucky to grind out some points in recent games.

Coming from Edmonton on sunday they go:

tuesday: @ Nashville
thursday: @ Detroit
Friday: @ New Jersey
Sunday: @ Dallas
tuesday: @ Phoenix

Not exactly a nice clean line on the map. I wouldn't be surprised to see a majority of those games go to extra time as well.

I would agree with this. His skating is much more confident and he is much more aggressive in the offensive zone. I wonder how much of that is his pairing with Ehrhoff.

cameroncrazy1984: I wonder how much of that is his pairing with Ehrhoff.

Well, I'm sure it doesn't hurt. But the team putting goals on the board takes some of the pressure off of the back end, too, I suppose. Maybe he's not gripping the stick as tightly and finally playing his game.

Good on him. The kid's got some serious talent, and it was unfortunate to hear him get so much criticism heaped on him early on.

I wonder if the Flyers made any calls to the Islanders for Montoya. He's pretty solid if not spectacular, and of course the Flyers can provide enough offensive support.

I'm not sure what's worse; finding yourself down 2-0 w/in the first 10 minutes to Columbus, or simply giving up a goal to Jeff Carter, who makes Alexander Semin look like a fully engaged, fist-pounding warrior.

I feel so sad watching the Habs anymore. They're basically only relying on Price to make it. You can't fark your goalie like that. They can only take it for so long.

I'll save you the wonder - none. If you're a D relying on Ehrhoff to be your Charlie Huddy you need to rethink your plan. Myers is just playing up to potential on a finally-healthy team.
