I expect a totally different kind of trap in Malaysia.

2012-02-21 09:31:28 AM
Couldn't law enforcement just have a few officers take up the ad, and arrest whoever it is they meet with? Seems almost too easy to catch them if they take an advertisement out.

I'd prefer a native Malaysian sex slave over a Ugandan one.

Agree - does not seem like a particularly hard one to crack, if they really gave a shiat.

1) Take the ad down at the shopping center (are there malls in Uganda??)
2) Get some undercover types
3) Call them (one call, that's all)
4) Make the trip
5) Encounter the bad men (women??)
6) Jailarity ensues

CapnBlues: are ugandan women attractive, in general?

Short answer: Mostly.

Long answer: They come in different shapes and sizes and attraction is subjective, but of the numerous Ugandan women I know, few are unattractive.

Here are some photos a cousin of mine took in Uganda a couple years ago.

not my cup of tea, but there's some pretty objectively appealing material there. I can totally see why they'd be sought after by those with a hankering for something new. thanks!

Ugandan women also put a lot of emphasis on sex and pleasing their man... but I doubt they'd want to be trafficked.

The women in the pictures were beautiful. They have nice facial structure.

Hmmm.... since Maylasia is 60% Islamic, one has to wonder why there is no outrage coming from the religion of perpetual outrage. Unless, of course, there is no prostitution occurring due to the voluminous quickie "marriage and divorce" ceremonies which happen at the NoTell Motel in Islamic countries. Wink, wink. Nudge nudge.

The bigger trap in Kuala Lumpur is the "girls" waiting outside the clubs.

FTA: "The traffickers brainwash their victims into believing they may die if they quit, apparently by collecting samples of their hair and fingernails."

Is it just me, or are these women apparently dumber than a bag of rocks?

Probably the same reason there's no outrage about all the Filipinas who go to Arab countries for domestic work and get abused.

(I presume Filipinas are insufficiently "exotic" to Malaysians.)

So I'm thinking it's not quite that simple. It's not like the girls meet up with the solicitors and the guy immediately says, right, you're a sex worker now. The girl is made all sorts of promises, she shipped off to Malaysia and they put her up in a guarded house, and then they tell her what time it is. Complicating the situation is that most of these organizations do actually put up some girls in legal jobs, so they 'appear' legit. But if they haul your ass out there at their expense and you can't or won't do the work and can't pay them back, they're going to make you do something with guaranteed income.

Someone tried to scam my roomate with a dog sitting job a few weeks ago. She responded to an ad about dog sitting for a month. She would be paid $1600 and given money for expenses and travel to the hotel. The "woman" never talked to my roomate over the phone eventhough my roomate gave her phone number a couple times. Then out of the blue this check shows up for close to $2000. Who the hell would send a stranger a check like that. I looked at it but it just seemed wrong. I figure it was some kind of check kiting scam. They send a check for too much you send them back the difference. And when you figure out the check is bad you get stuck with nothing, or less than nothing since you sent them a check.

Especially since:

Authorities say nearly all of the prostituted girls have college degrees but have failed to find jobs in Uganda, where unemployment is high.

Great colleges you got there, Uganda.

Actually, Makerere U. is either the top university in all of East Africa, or in the top 2-3. And Ugandans take education pretty seriously. Want an entry-level office job? You'd better have a Bachelor's degree. And there will be 200 other people with Bachelor's degrees applying for that job, too. "Unemployment is high" because there are too many qualified people.

Doesn't hurt that the girls there are about the friendliest you'll ever see anywhere. (Which is why it seems ridiculous to me to traffick them. Easier to just ask nicely, since they're raised to keep a guy happy. ;)

Primitive cultures that believe in witchcraft often have a taboo about leaving physical samples like spit or blood behind, spiting on the ground is an invitation to being hexed. Alternatively they may just have no idea what biological or chemical weapons or assorted crazy high technology can actually do.

LOL! Kinda funny. He was actually a missionary in Japan way-back-when, after he was a soldier in Japan, but before he was an author, historian, photographer and radio host in Japan. No CCF ties that I know of.
