Witnesses say a man and woman in a Ford Explorer, who had just gotten married, were playing around at a red light -- getting out of their car, running around it and then getting back in, exchanging seats.

something tells me these kids are not gonna make it.

I'd be pissed if I was driving a PT Cruiser, too.

FTA:
"The driver of the PT Cruiser has been charged with first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon.

The driver of the Explorer is expected to be fine"

I found this statement funny for some reason.

If this had been Miami both drivers would have opened fire on each other with guns. The first being a dick and he other getting revenge.

I find that drivers of PT Cruisers (and the HHR) are Very aggressive. Perhaps being in such an ugly vehicle makes them so angry the butt hurt can't be hidden.

Something along the lines of "self-defense/citizen's arrest" the other guy STABBED him after all

Walter White Jr's facial expression is classic when he sees the PT Cruiser his mom bought for him in the driveway. Even a 16 year old desperate for a car is embarrassed by it.

Not only is the PT Cruiser discontinued, but apparently Chrysler only makes 4 models now, 2 of which are the Chrysler 200 (sedan and convertible).

Here in California PT Cruisers drive pretty average to slow. Seems like old ladies like PT Cruisers. If there was a car I saw most consistently driven in a poor manner, its the little Asian hatchbacks the kids try to sup (soup?) up for racing.

My first job when I came down to the states was at a car dealership, I had one guy come in looking for a SUV or something that could haul alot of crap cross country because he had just gotten a new job. (Seems he had a lot of pc equipment plus lugage and what not). He was looking at a used suburban, mainly because it had all the options and what not. So he goes to get his wife, I give the credit ap to our finance guy to run the numbers. FnI guy comes back to me and tells me we can't get him the suburban, but there was one vehicle on the lot we could get him in. I ask what, and he says the cruiser.
So now I have the fun job of explaining that he gets to move all his shiat in the back of a PT Cruiser, and some how, talk him into it. Explaining that there is a ton of room in the back for pc's and shiat.

//Gods I hated that fking job

If by 'fine', you mean continuing to live a life where your arguments with other drivers result in you getting stabbed, getting back in your car to chase down and ram the stabber off the road, and then get into another fight with the stabber, then yes, I expect him to be fine.

You know, I drive a lot for work (around 1,000 miles of city driving a month) and I have to say... I think you're right. PT Cruisers seem to attract a high percentage of aggressive d-bags. I can't explain why, but you're not the only one who's noticed the trend.

That said, around here in DC the absolute worst drivers on average are folks with luxury SUV's. They're not aggressive per se, but more than any other type of car they tend to drive as if they're the only cars on the road - utterly indifferent to the safety of others. Cutting suddenly across several lanes of traffic to an exit - forcing everyone in their way to slam on the brakes or swerve to avoid them, paying more attention to their cellphones than the road, changing lanes without even looking to see if it's safe, driving very very fast and riding your ass or very very slow and slowing down traffic for miles, ignoring traffic signs and just pretty much doing whatever they damn well please... They just drive as if they're important and everybody needs to make way for them at all times.

Stand your ground laws have been extended to any ground you can cover in pursuit of someone who wronged you. Also, it was the most obvious case of self-offense ever.

Sadly there isnt much anywhere you can get away from this these days. This is my experiance of what happened a few days ago in CT.

Just the other day I was getting on the Highway where 2 lanes merge into 1 about half way up the onramp. Traffic was moving at about 3mph and I let the car infront of me in the other lane merge when the SUV behind it decides to pull up to the car's bumper and then started laying on the horn and trying to force me out of the lane. I wasnt in any particular rush and wasnt going to deal with an asshole like that so i try to merge behind the SUV and the woman continue to block me screaming out their window. So I roll down the window figuring that something must be an issue and see what they are saying.

When i roll down the window i am met with a stream of obscenities of "what the F are you doing trying to F'ing cut me off you F'ing B'tard" etc. I roll my window back up and then the woman takes her house keys in her fist, and while still rolling along with traffic leans her body out her window and starts trying to punch my window out. I rolled the window down again and was basically like "WTF, pull over up ahead i am calling the cops" and then pulled over, not too supprisingly she did not pull over. Looking back at it i probably shouldnt have pulled over myself otherwise I might have ended up being stabbed if she had something on her.

\csb off

Also he was coerced by the knife. If he pleads temporary insanity, he should get a mistrial at the worst. There was also alienation of affection, because the other guy left, so he could bring that charge, but there would probably be a misjoinder of his habeus appeal

The PT Cruiser and the BMW 3 Series. You drive one of those two things, you drive like a total asshole. It's almost an immutable rule of the road.

I suspect it has something to do with the price tags. The only reason anybody buys either is because they're trying to buy something cool on the cheap. If you're too poor to buy a cool compact/coupe/sedan but to vain too admit it, you settle for a PT Cruiser. If you're too poor to buy a real luxury car but too vain to admit it, you settle for a 3 series.

The result? You drive around in a half-assed box of wanna-be-level crap and get really angry at all the people around you on the road because they're the only people nearby while you're constantly encased in a sad reminder of all the bad choices you've made in life up to this point.

Came to say something around these lines. I was in an accident a couple weeks ago and my insurance company set me up with a HHR rental...biggest piece of shiat I have ever driven. I would rather walk the 25 miles to work every day than have to ride in one of those.

It's not just you two, when I had a job with a lot of driving in SoCal, those PT Cruiser guys were ALWAYS nasty. Not as bad as the BMWs (holy fark get out of the way) but I've always noticed PTC guys drive like entitled dicks. It's not as bad up here in NorCal, but it was really obvious down south.

What's with PT Cruiser drivers. I heard on the news an old man in a PT cruiser plowed into some kids the other day. Then yesterday a PT Cruiser hits a Prius, the PT Cruiser driver then shoots himself.

Volvo station wagons. If I see an old man with a hat in a Volvo station wagon, I'll pull over till he passes. If he's got Washington or Iowa plates, I'll pull over, and run away from the road. Just to be safe, I'll dial 9-1 and wait.

It's interesting how the car of assholes changes depending on where you live. Back in the SF East Bay, it was Lexus by a huge margin, with Bimmers and Hummers filling in the gaps. Here in Fresno it's Audi, Infiniti, and Camaro. In Portland it was the Prius (both the 25 over and 10 under crowd), whereas everywhere else I've lived Prius is no better or worse than average, but maybe they're just massively overrepresented in Portland. In LA the worst were probably the old Caddys and Buicks driven by gangbangers, even the confused tourists weren't as bad.

I believe that a frontal lobotomy is a requirement for the drivers of green Ford Windstars. Drivers of black Ford F150 come in at a distant second place.

Around Montreal, the overwhelming majority of assholes seem to drive Honda Odyssey minivans. The sheer variety of asshatery Odyssey drivers display can be entertaining if you aren't in a hurry and far enough away.

I will change lanes, pull over or exit to get away from a damn Odyssey.
