Huh. Well it worked in preview. Anyway, does it seem like the chick in the silver bodysuit have a cammel toe?
2003-10-22 10:08:39 PM
Still look as fake as the shark in Jaws.

So, what's the plan when women become obsolete?
2003-10-22 11:19:07 PM
I already have one.
I call her Ms. Oft.
She's cranky and crashes at my place a lot and gets PMS so badly it causes her to shut down at least once a month.
She costs a bunch of money to keep happy and makes me make all these really one-sided agreements with her where I end up giving up all my rights.
She's supposed to be good at multi-tasking, but she can only really handle about 2 things at once. One if it's Photoshop, but she blames the cpu.

wow now i never have to leave the house now. the good thing is you can erase her memory so she wont bring up that time that you were talking to that girl at the bar 5 years before. and you can teach her all you want about sports and she will listen. and you never have to buy her drinks, dinner or flowers. im sold

What's that movie where they put something on their head and then they experienced other people's memories... I think it had woody Harelson in it. When are we gonna do that? I wanna try some of Ron's memories...

Programmers do it with a model

nyuck nyuck nuthin'
2003-10-23 04:01:28 AM
maybe now those attractive people who decide to be professional morons will be forced to get a job that doesn't involve standing around and being stared at. then again, virtual models only exist inside computers.. i must invent cheap dynamic holograph-generation technology, and pronto.

technology.. good.

There will come a time when robot wives are cheap and effective. I can hardly wait, I'm getting sick of all the shiat from the real ones.

Of course, women will have robot husbands too, so it may still be hard for men who want a real woman to find one.
2003-10-23 04:03:19 AM
All we need is some nano goo like they had in Virtuosity and we'll be set. It will spell the end of personals sites everywhere!

IForgotMyPassword....Great, plug me into Woody's brain...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
2003-10-23 04:06:25 AM
I keep musing to others about how the day will come when in a courtroom a video tape used as evidence would be later proven to be a forgery created on a personal computer.

You mean something like this?

She has a stunning, highly human-like face, but as soon as you pan down her body, it is obvious she has borrowed a few diet tips from Barbie.

They are the "hyper-reality" of women who only exist in a plastic surgeon's dream.

And just what in the world is wrong with that?
2003-10-23 04:09:33 AM
The beauty of many of the images in the exhibition is striking. But their impossibly perfect limbs, lips and looks, are still pretty far removed from what a "real" woman looks like.

This article was written by a girl.

IForgotMyPassword, was the movie Brainstorm? Starred the now virtual-only Natalie Wood.

votes for Cybervenus Fei-Fei as hottest virtual girl so far
2003-10-23 04:12:44 AM
I'd rather have the 5th Element :)

but then I remembered these lovely ladies..

The LAST thing I want is a "Realistic" Woman... I want her too be a super-hot nymphomaniac, that cooks, cleans, and shuts the hell up....
2003-10-23 04:16:34 AM
Yeah, robot wives! I see nothing wrong with the idea. If you don't have a woman, in all likelihood you are going to masturbate, so why not use technology to it's fullest to enhance the experience? It's like prostitution without the exploitation element...true, a big drawback, but it has so many other advantages.
2003-10-23 04:22:51 AM
gnosis...Brainstorm was indeed with Natalie Wood and with Christopher Walken.
IForgotMyPassword is thinking of strange days.

2003-10-23 04:28:08 AM
Heck, I'm working to become an actor. I am just fearful of the day that the 3d "people" become realisctic enough to put me out of a job!

these robots will take my medicine. im scared of robots. everyone knows robots need medicine to survive. and for god sakes give the robot a beer, nothing worse then a sober robot behind the wheel
2003-10-23 04:33:34 AM
Wait until an A.I. gets self-aware enough to craft its own avatar. You think charismatic humans can cause mayhem? Ever see the look on someone's face when they pull the plug on something and it keeps working? You ain't seen nothin' yet.
2003-10-23 04:34:27 AM
Such realistic-looking constructs could be put to use in a variety of "entertainment industries".

Oh for cryin' out loud - just SAY it!

I want to know when AI personalities will be ready. Pictures of synth women would be much better if they had the right personalities.

The ethical implications of their use when these 3D models finally do make it off the screen and try to pass off as real could be enormous.

What the fark?

So because we have well rendered 3d models on computers, we should start to worry about the ethical implications on what would happen if we had robots that looked the same? That's just stupid.

Drawing != Real Robot in two years.

The future will have sex androids in it (predominantly female, I am sure), and we are going to have to learn to deal with that eventually. Men will no longer need women. About the same time, real females will probably figure out how to reproduce without male interaction at all (all they need is a shot of DNA from either gender) and humanity will split. We will have a giant war borne out of frustration with the other built up over thousands of years, and we will colonise seperate planets and live apart from each other. We will create crazy myths surrounding the war and what the other gender was like, and one day, the crew of a male and a female ship will me, and wacky adventures will ensue. Watch a very good anime called Vandread to see the true form of the future.

The Fox Enigma: I hate Cortana. Halo was challenging enough without having to listen to her stupid one-liners.

Of course it is going to be more women models than men.

Take the nVidia 'Dawn' demo for their line of FX video cards. A fairy wearing three leaves prancing around on a tree branch. Noooo, this isn't a male dominated market. . .

Side Note for anyone who has the Radeon cracked version of the nVidia demo: Rename Dawn.exe to 3dmark03.exe or quake3.exe. Huh? Where'd the leaves go? Enjoy =)

No wrist watches on these cyber-babes.

I guess they're still putting cyber-clocks on the cyber stoves.

That Vandread sounds inspired by 'A World Out of Time' by Larry Niven. A guy from modern times has his corpse frozen when he dies, gets revived (in a way) in the 22nd century by a fascist world government that uses him to pilot a one-way slower-than-light exploratory spaceship as far as he can before he dies. Thanks to relativity and a large black hole he comes back to Earth a couple of million years later, and finds out that mankind discovered a form of immortality that can only work before puberty, and keeps the person unaging from then on. The solar system is ruled by two factions, the Boys (who control Earth, which has been moved into orbit around Jupiter), and the Girls (who rule space, and do stuff like causing the solar output to increase and force the Boys to move their planet).

Very interesting book.

Dangit people, for the last time, you need to get translucency down if you want your peoples to look like they're not made of plastic or wax!
