It's nearly the same story in Montana. We can ski, but there are "early season conditions" warning signs, and everywhere on the mountain the grass pokes through the snow cover.

It's gonna be a bad fire season.

FTFA: Vermont's Okemo Mountain sits vacant. "People aren't getting into the groove."

This could also be because most of Ludlow's roads and infrastructure were wiped out during Irene this past fall.

killington season snowfall: 88". just awful.

season snowfall at vail: 170". equally awful considering they lack the snowmaking the east coast has, but i think squaw valley takes the cake.

Squaw Valley season snowfall: 98". when lake tahoe is at bad vermont levels, you know it is a bad season.

I skied Stowe a few weeks back and it wasn't terrible. I am glad that I had business in Burlington or it wouldn't have been worth my while.

I have a condo at Okemo and rental income has obviously sucked this year.

Just got back from Jay Peak. It was well below the normal standard they set for snowfall but the conditions were not bad. some ice on the steeper slopes and had to watch for exposed roots and wood in the glades, but not bad.
