ok, 2 Big 'Uns in one race? These new rules need to change before the 500, or someone is going to get hurt, and bad.

Well, my long-shot pick for tonight is not gonna happen.

And "DUDE, you're on fire" LOL

STOP. FIRETRUCK.

Almost simul-post. Great minds, and all that

On fire *and* no brakes? That's a bad night....

2012-02-18 09:51:36 PM
Drive faster, the fire will go out on its own.

I heard them save no brakes after I typed it. Glad he didn't asplode. I don't like the guy, but that made me nervous.

Once again, I feel the need to commend NASCAR officials on their decision making skills. It looks like their objective of getting on all the highlight reels on the anniversary of Dale Earnhardt's death has succeeded.

I am genuinely afraid for what may occur in the 500.

2012-02-18 09:52:14 PM
Lessons learned from tonight.. You HAVE to backoff the bumper in the turns like previous races.

2012-02-18 09:52:43 PM
Is it me or are there cars throwing up tons of sparks? I can't remember seeing this many sparks coming up from cars in the past.

2012-02-18 09:53:02 PM
So the 500 is going to be last man standing?

2012-02-18 09:53:12 PM
Seems like there's a lot more sparks when the cars spin out. Was something changed for this year that makes them sit lower to the ground?

2012-02-18 09:53:24 PM
There are a lot of sparks being thrown up on these crashes. Did they paint these cars with sparklers tonight?

2012-02-18 09:53:31 PM

Dumb-Ass-Monkey: ok, 2 Big 'Uns in one race? These new rules need to change before the 500, or someone is going to get hurt, and bad.

like i said earlier, changes will be made before thursday or after the duels. the only change possible at this point is making the intake in the front bumper bigger. that and maybe a plate increase.

2012-02-18 09:53:41 PM
I hope NASCAR is happy with themselves. If they don't put the inch back on that rear spoiler (and then some), the 500 is gonna be a farkin' wreckfest that no one will survive unscathed. Even if there are only two cars left by the last lap, they'll wreck each other!

PUT THE GODDAMN SPOILER BACK!

2012-02-18 09:54:02 PM
so Mikey's whole team is out?

2012-02-18 09:54:06 PM

donnielove: That's about what I've read in reviews, which is why I wanted to rent it before I bought it. Why is a good NASCAR game so hard to do?

/Hell of a save by Kyle!

Well, one realistic thing about the game on-track is a triple-tandem will cause a wreck like we just saw.

Some of yall might be over-reacting to a few wrecks

It's gonna be me in my purple minivan, driving highway speeds in the right lane.

2012-02-18 09:56:29 PM
So who's left to root for at this point?

Well, Gordon and Smoke are doing a great job of avoiding the schrapnel.....

Anyone not named "Gordon" or "Johnson"

Since the field was so small to begin with, it seems like there's a lot more cars out. But still, it's been a crazy race.

The first car that is 15 laps down wins?

Perhaps. But we still haven't even scratched the surface of the idiocy if the current rule changes. The Shootout runs at night and is quite short. In the 500, we're going to have to deal with all of NASCAR's attempts to blow the engines of pushers over the long haul on top of all the aero instability/lack of communication.

It's a recipe for disaster, IMO.

Rear fender is two inches closer to the ground.

Was that the 48's horseshoe I saw on the right side of the tow truck?

phantomht: they are just easier to see at night?

I was thinking that, but I've watched plenty of night races and can't remember seeing cars throwing up this many sparks. It's like the second they go sideways there's a huge shower of sparks. They've always thrown up some sparks, but seems like they're throwing up more now.

catastrophe averted: swampgirl: So who's left to root for at this point?

Okay then... GO SMOKE!!! Did you see his pre-race interview with Rutledge? When asked if Smoke felt bad enough about the practice crash that he might help somebody else win, he replied, "I said I was sorry, didn't I?" He's here to win. I love that guy.
