They've made a lemon party joke on 30 Rock before. I forget the exact quote, but Liz's father is named Dick, and he makes a joke about family (Lemon) parties needing "Old Dick".

I was in a room full of people the first time I first watched the episode, and was the only one who laughed at the joke. It's pretty embarrassing to be the only person that gets the reference, and having to explain it.

I was surprised to see her in a hair color commercial that just came out. She is ultra feminine and pink/fluffy.

She is hot and very cute at the same time, but it doesn't fit with my idea of what she is as a professional actress/writer. I can't tell if it is serious or an ironic joke. Either way, I like it!

CSS time:

A guy I work with was at Shea Stadium they day it got rickrolled.

I had to explain what happened.

This was the same person to whom I explained Fantasy Football was a lot like Dungeons and Dragons.

He didn't much like talking to me.

I actually LIKE that he didn't. It's really refreshing when a show doesn't feel it has to address 'meta' things to show how clever it is, and it's really sad that so few shows pass by opportunities like that.

Huh? Jack Donaghy running for mayor was a clear reference to Baldwin's plans to (maybe one day) do the same. So I don't think a tiny use of the phrase "evil lurks" or "Jack knows" would've been out of place. Okay, with Liz as the joker they ran a general Batman theme and this might have clashed with it...

/Never mind that it's not the most well-known movie
//Or character, by now. Sadly.

Meh. I wasn't aware of that. It's more likely that someone like me pays more attention to an actor's filmography (or tv-ography, or whatever) than his extracurricular shooting his mouth off.

We're probably splitting hairs here, but I still hate how often I see winks at the camera these days.

We all do, it's because frankly, if you are not a total net addict who spends half their day on Fark/Reddit/whatever... most of them aren't funny or interesting in any way. Though bizarrely, "2 girls 1 cup" seemed to take off, based on the number of YouTube reaction videos. And that is way worse than lemon party.

Bossypants took the Tina Fey adoration to a new level, and that hovers all over this season of 30 Rock. It's kind of like when Phil Collins went back to Genesis after turning into a solo superstar.

Yes. That's exactly what it's like.

I have a lifetime membership to the Tina Fey Church of Admiration-Lust-Worship, but am I the only one who thinks this season of 30 Rock has been kinda strained so far? It feels like their struggling to bench-press the same levels of hilarity that they were lifting with one pinky a season or two ago.

I thought it started out rough, the first episode was pretty bad, but it's gotten much better since. For as much biatching as I hear about 30 Rock's quality, they seem to be mostly consistent in quality, even if they're not the best show on NBC Thursdays.
