ScouserDuck: desertgeek: So I step away from the game to go to work and I see we've had:

A Carroll goal (and the way he was going today, he deserved at least 1)
2 Own Goals
1 Saurez penalty miss... at least some things never change.

3 own goals.

I saw the 1st OG. I had to go at halftime.

Well done, Liverpool. Good game, kick ass next round

You know, when are we going to see more female streakers? I know there have been a few before.

Let's give Brighton a round of applause because no team deserves 3 own goals.

Ugh. Ugly streakers should be forced to pay 5x the fines.

Indeed. They deserved better today.

Hopefully, a week from now, we will be celebrating Liverpool winning some silverware.

/Yeah, it's a minor trophy but you take what you can get.

No shame cheering for a minor trophy. ...particularly in a season when not many people thought they'd even contend for that much.

Not sure if anyone is reading this still, but I forgot to mention I bought tickets for the Everton/Spurs game at Goodison Park for March 10th. Will be over in England and will take pictures for everyone!

I'd also like to point out that over the last few years, Barcelona despite all- their success and all- the casuals and media "experts" performing fellatio on them, have NEVER during that time period had a 13 point lead over Real Madrid.

It's funny, the second refs stop handing Barca points on a silver platter, and they are in disaster mode. They peaked, and watching them go down is going to great.

I've always wanted to strip naked and hug Carra. That guy was just living the dream. (nsfw)

I think I speak on behalf of everyone who watched that when I say I'd rather see you do that then see that guy.

messi just puts them up 2-1, and Alves keeps it that score with 2 incredible saves just now.

I think it's more funny that the closest this team of all-stars has come to beating Barca is a tie while Barca has beaten the Francoist bastards 3 times.

Messi has more class than the entire Madrid team who always resort to thuggery and diving in hopes to finally get the result they feel entitled to.

But congrats on being atop the table in a two team league.

#3 Valencia has a very good young club, but no match for Barça now. they are toying with Los Che.

You've seen Barca play right? They will dive and kick with the best of them if they can get away with it. Messi may have more class than Real but he still dives like Real does Link.

Are there people out there who actually believe there are teams in the top divisions that don't dive these days? Sadly, it's part of the modern game...at least in every league I've ever watched. Anyone who says it's only a problem for certain players, teams or countries are fooling themselves...

That sounds awesome. Safe travels & do post pictures :)

I think Carroll can be compared to the first couple of seasons of Dirk Kuyt and Lucas. So many people bagged on them both, despised Rafa any time they saw them starting or warming up, and then they later become Anfield heroes. Just think of where we'd be if Lucas didn't get injured?!?!

Carroll will be the next in that line. Give him two seasons (this year's and next) and he'll start powering the ball through the net and providing assists like a banshee. Downing...I think he'll improve, but it'll take some more time for him. I felt like he was on the downward slide of his career, but he does provide some highly-needed depth to the squad.

I have never talked down on them, and never will. Am I disappointed in their form? Sure...but they'll make their mark. I'm sure of it.
