SUSPEND THE BASTARD!!! And boot Chad out of NASCAR for a solid farking year!!! How many farking times will it take NASCAR catching them before they do what I just said? Suspend the driver for ten races, suspend the crew chief until 2013. That way, a team that actually works its asses off gets in, not this cheating ass-hat.

And while we're at it NASCAR, invalidate each and every single one of his championships. You will gain a lot of fans overnight by doing that as well.

/and TKat, I'm calling you out... did the idol stay self-aware even after Johnson was eliminated from contention last year, or is this pure karma?

Here you go: Rule one, vehicle must have four wheels touching the pavement at all times, no more, no fewer. Rule two, vehicle can weigh no more than 6,000 pounds and no less than 2,000 pounds. Rule three, it must run on 90 octane gas.

That's it. Go for it boys.

Suspend Chad for 2 damn years.

According to the NASCAR rule book, this part can NOT be modified, thus resulting in an infraction.

seriously, let em do whatever they want.
the more fiery crashes and more deaths, the more viewers.

I don't care if Chad and Jimmy cheat. If you're not cheating, you're not trying.

What I really want to know is how the hell were drivers selected for the shoot out this year? Danica? Mears? Almirilo?

Why?

Really? I'm not a JJ fan by any measure. I am a fan of Chad Knaus. His "cheating" is actually an embodiment of the spirit of old-school NASCAR, when guys like Smokey Yunick would screw around on a regular basis to get an edge. NASCAR has become *so* rules oriented that it's almost overbearing.

Yes, because websites NEVER change or remove links arbitrarily. Put your f**king pitchforks away and stop foaming at the mouths. Submitter posted above with a better link to replace his shanghai'd one.

This is because they want it to be about the *driver* winning on the track, not his crew chief finding a way to (pardon the pun) "jimmy" their way around the rules in the garage.

Yeah, well, Chad can "jimmy" around the rules all he wants; Johnson still has to have the talent to drive the thing. And I'm not in favor of some of the radical things that happened back when Yunick was around, like his stunt with the filler neck on the gas tank(great story, crappy sportsmanship). But a little bit of tinkering and tweaking shouldn't be a cause for massive fines and penalties(this does not include putting jet fuel in your fuel tank, David Hyder).

Yeah. I'm really not into NASCAR, but from my cursory knowledge isn't this what happens all the time? Is this more a case of trying to knock down the guy who is tops in the game, or is this some egregious thing that he does that is 10x worse than the gamesmanship that others do?

Easy there, mikaloyd. Remember me from all the race threads? Hell, I even got a couple greened.

My point was that Chad could tweak the damn thing all he wants - doesn't mean if you threw, say, Steven Wallace or Michael McDowell in the seat, that he could drive it as well and Johnson.

/I feel dirty saying that. Ugh.

NASCAR is going to lay down a suspension like we have never seen before. I could Knaus being suspended 12-18+ races. Rick Hendrick will have to work his magic with NASCAR brass to get anything shorter than 12.

Why should there be templates for the body anyways? Trying to come up with the best aerodynamic design should be something left up to the teams and if they can find an advantage, so be it.

NASCAR stance is that they want it to be all about the driver. If you make it about car quality, things will be as lopsided as F1.

NASCAR itself has ruined the sport. They should go back to unrestricted, actual manufactured body cars. This new stuff is gay

there is more money involved if nobody has an advantage to win. Think of it as a lotto for sponsors each week to see who gets to be prime stage. If its the same car all the time because of superior modifications the dollars for sponsoring crappy cars will evaporate.
