Wouldn't surprise me. Detroit, for some reason, have problems playing to their full potential on National TV.

Meanwhile, in Vancouver (new window)

Where'd that happen and why is Canucks spelled wrong?

Its in the article I linked.

I really hope to hell that's not true. Still hoping the NHL will wake up and trash that abomination.

Ishkur: most games.

Not true.

When the Rangers appear in more SCF than the Red Wings have won or the Canucks actually show up for a SCR, we'll talk. Until then, you're still talking about the team that is the class of the NHL and the road to the SC still runs through Hockeytown. Only the Montreal Canadians have the right to speak in the Red Wings league of legacy's.

Well, I haven't exactly cried over it. Though I might if they introduced shootouts during the finals. I have no doubt newer hockey fans would like to see that.

Ishkur: zippolight2002: You should also note that ties back in the day also ddin't break the streak.

Actually, yes they did.

Philly had a winning streak, not an unbeaten streak.

/for instance, Vancouver has been unbeaten since January 14
//11 games
///last year they had a 17 game unbeaten streak

I think Vancouver's most impressive streak is that 41 years in the league without winning a Stanley Cup run they're on.

10 minute overtime.

5 minutes 4 on 4
5 minutes 3 on 3

If it's a tie after that, so be it.

Good good. Let the butthurt flow through you.

Get over it. It's here and it's not going away.
No matter how much you stomp your feet or
however many hissy fits you have about it.
The majority of hockey fans want an outcome
to a game not a tie. They also don't want players
injured due to playing half a dozen overtime periods
during a regular season game. The shootout is the
best compromise to this situation. Deal with it.

Yes there does seem to be a great deal of butthurt from that side of the Great White. Goodness gracious. Ease up fellas, 2 teams play and one wins and one loses. The Wings have done it 22 times in a row. When the next team does it 30yrs from now it will be a great achievement then too.

sparkeyjames: The shootout is thebest compromise to this situation

No it's not. There are several other options that could be implemented while hopefully keeping ADD people happy while off their meds.

Then again, if they scrap the entire format and simply go with shootouts for all regular/playoff games it could cut the season down to about 1 to 2 weeks. Allowing more of the latest expansion team fans to play video games and tweet.

I think it`s just Rev.K, he does that.

As for the Church thing, looks like just one dumbass who can`t spell. If you really want to judge a city or a team based upon the actions of one person then you`re clearly just trying to slander something. But by all means Fatal, act as if your city is classier than Vancouver, I`m sure that will go over quite well.

It's not 22 wins in a row, it's 22 wins in a row at home. The Wings have lost 3 times in their last 10 games.

It's an impressive streak to be sure, but it's not like the Wings have won every game in that stretch.

The thread is about 22 consecutive home wins, I know they have lost on the road during it. Are you being dense on purpose?

F*ck you I sh*t on threads.

I call it like I see it.

Today I managed to stumble into cheap tickets in the 3rd row behind the net for tonight's Isles-Canes game. Which starts in 30 minutes. But it's a 15 minute drive. Score.

You know what MOST of the folks who are actually at the games really LIKE the shootout that's why the NHL is NOT going to drop any time soon.

Good good. Run it down then make a joke about it but put forward no viable idea for an alternative. Then make a
lame joke about people who don't mind the shootout. Good going Einstein.

So ahh what are your several other alternatives? Difficulty: No tie games No more than one Full or reduced time OT period. I know how about a shootout?

Thank you, 9beers. You made the point I was going to post. By his logic, he should have no problem with saying the Wings have the record now. Took him long enough to stop the whine.

as a blues (and penguins) fan, i've always had a hate/immense respect relationship with the redwings. there's no denying that they've been the best team of the past 15 years. and no, they wouldn't have the record if not for the shootout. but such are the rules. apparently some douche from vancouver thinks that if not for the shootouts, the can'tucks would be getting their proper due. well, this makes little sense, since the redwings actually have two more ROW (reg./overtime wins) than do the can'tucks (having played one extra game).

anyways, the regular season takes second stage to the real dance, starting in april. we all know that vancouver's best shot ever was last year, and now that that's blown, they have nothing better to do but whine about american dominance. i do think a canadian team will win the cup though....before 2045.

GypsyJoker: I would take Datsyuk and Zetterberg over any tandem in the league.

Crosby(when healthy) and Malkin?Sedins?

Zetterberg has been less spectacular lately, while Datsyuk has looked more incredible than usual.
