John Buck 41: sherpa18: flamingboar: Hey fellow cat lovers! I got wrote up at work because a person reported I was saying racial slurs. Apparently referring to my cat as a coon is bad (he is a Maine coon). I was talking to my co worker about my cat and someone else over heard it.

[i415.photobucket.com image 500x362]

Suggestion from a former HR professional: Provide a written rebuttal explaining your side of the story. Request your co-worker do the same. Include a picture of the cat. Insist it be placed in your personnel file so that the truth is documented come salary review/promotion opportunity time.

That's a REALLY good idea. I work in a plant that makes auto parts. Sometimes the language gets rough (DUH) and one can only hope no one with sensitive ears is nearby.

Several years ago, CDK was telling me a joke on the phone while we were at work. I don't remember the joke but it had something to do with a sperm bank so he was whispering very quietly into the phone. The lady in the cubicle in the next row, must have been eavesdropping and heard the joke. She promptly filed a complaint against him with HR. This same lady also filed a complaint that he would chew his lifesavers too loudly. This is also the same lady who would watch TV in her basement, and could hear her husband chewing ice 2 floors above. She must have the best hearing EVER!

yobbery: He's home....and stoned out of his mind.
He already ate 6 treats...no interest in yogurt or pudding. Do y'all think dry food would be ok this early in the game since that's all he seems to want to eat? I'm thinking hold out a bit and see if he'll eat something gooshy.
I put on some Pink Floyd and he's currently passed out on the couch.

My condolences to everyone who has lost a fur kid recently and especially Whooopappaya on the loss of her nephew. My heart breaks for you and your family.

Yobbery I am so glad Biscuit is ok! I don't wanna play favorites, but he is one of mine. I think his new cut looks snazzy ;)

Salem Witch A request if I may? Moar Suzy! And how is Ralph doing?

Big love and healing PURRS for AlienNarrr! You are loved and missed girlie girl XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

whooopappaya Oh my. How terribly sad. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

In my profession, we see many teens who have issues that could lead to suicide. Sometimes we are able to help, and sometimes we are not. I believe that they are so overwhelmed with their sorrows and problems that they don't think about what they are doing. They only know that they have pain, and they can't see a way to make it go away. So they do the unthinkable...to us...

My worst nightmare is losing my child.

whooopappaya: Hai guys. I have a heavy heart this Caturday. My beloved nephew and godson Noah passed away on Wednesday. He took his own life; we have no idea why as from all outward appearances, he was a happy, sweet 13 year old boy. It hurts to say that's how he passed, but I feel so numb and am still in disbelief that saying it makes it feel more "real," if that makes any sense.

Noah and I were always especially close, as he was born when I was only 11 years old (my brothers are all ~twice my age). When he was a baby my mom would watch him for my brother and sister-in-law, so I spent every day playing with him after school. As he got older, I saw him less as I was away at college but I always loved when he was at my parents' when I visited home. This summer my fiance and I were actually going to move close to where Noah lives and I was so excited to get to spend more time with him. Especially as he was going to turn 14, I wanted to do what my dad did for me when I was his age: take him to an empty parking lot & teach him how to drive, so that when he started driver's ed, he would (sort of) know what he was doing.

A picture of Noah with Mufasa, when Noah was only 9 and Mufasa was less than a year old. This picture cracks me up because it looks like Moof is sticking his tongue out. He was probably trying to say "Moooooom, Noah always tries to tickle my belly when we play and puts the red dot on the ceiling where I can't get it, I'm not playing nice for a picture with him!"

[farm8.staticflickr.com image 604x452]

I am so sorry, that is so hard on the people left behind. That is an absolutely wonderful picture of Noah and Mufasa. I have a grand nephew the same age and can barely conceive of the pain Noah's family is feeling now.

Finally home, errands having been run. Collected a few microphones that Plumbicon's going to clean up, 4 speakers/2 sizes, 1 amplifier that's bigger than my chorus's present that doesn't work well. Think we were meant to go shop for lavalier mics for director & coach/management tm ldr to use to announce, but didn't. Little Later since Not Sooner.

There's nothing wrong with QJ...as long as he gets his medicine every hour (1500mg of Thorazine administered by dart gun... or by suppository for the really brave...).

I think a lot has to do with the competitive nature he and his brother had growing up.... "I betcha won't go pee on the wall outlet", "I bet ya can't go milk that cow with horns", "I bet ya can't knock over all of the motorcycles outside of that biker bar".

Wicked storm out there right now, hope I don't lose power. I should get some buckets of water ready as the well pump is electric. I have Fiona in the house and she is getting worse with every rumble of thunder. She is trying to get in my lap and as a stinky, big farm dog that is not going to happen. Tom is sitting in a box staring at the ceiling, Li-Ion is trying to get up the courage to touch the dog without it seeing him.

Moonmac: Hello all. This is my first time posting here. I'm normally a lurker (a long time lurker, for the past 4-5 years. I never had the courage to make an account or post. Yes, I'm shy). I decided today I was going to take the plunge. I also am a "crazy cat lady", I guess, since I have 4 of them. As soon as I decide on either using Flickr or Tinypic, I'll post pictures of them.

yobbery: Good to hear that Biscuit is doing better & is going to be okay. He is a handsome fellow. =)

Sickapie: Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!!! Get better soon!

John Buck 41: I am so sorry for your loss. My grandmother (the last of my grandparents still living at that time) passed away this past August. Lots of peace and healing to you & your family.

djtodd: I am so sorry for your loss. When I was younger, we had a stray that also "chose us" for a home. His name was Pepper, and that special guy lived to be 22, surviving all sorts of stuff, including being hit by a car. Peace and healing to you.

whooopappaya: I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sorry for that generic response, but something like that does leave me at a loss for words. Its very very sad and confusing. Lots of peace and healing to you and your family.

I hope everyone is having a good day, and we'll see if I can keep mustering up enough courage to keep posting -- hehe...=)

Welcome, Moonmac!

An a bright note, your pedicure looks great!

I was thinking the same thing! I hope your ankle heals quickly - I fell and sprained both ankles at the same time (because, yes, I am talented like that) and one of them made an audible 'snap!'. Fortunately they were both only sprained, but it was still extremely painful! I hope there is someone there who will wait on you hand and foot until you're fully recovered! No need to rush these things - I'm thinking 6 months of pampering should see you up and around with no lingering issues...

Thanks to you both.

So glad that everything worked out and Biscuit is home where he belongs. Love the shaved paws - looks like he is wearing over-sized mittens! (when Gobby had his intestinal obstruction they only shaved one and I called him chicken leg until his fur grew back). I'm sure the rest of your clowder are suitably concerned about his well being. Or just acting like typical cats:
