If they even can off load it at this point, It might be bundled and have shifted when the ship listed.
That could make it a pretty dangerous job. Even if it could just be dumped to float, It would become a hazard
in the surf, and getting any other ships that would be needed to help with the problem ship.
Not to mention that if they did just dump a lot of it in hopes of recovering some, it would be soaked in salt water
and probably would be rejected by the consignee on delivery. The article didn't seem clear
if it was logs or lumber.But either way, once it's soaked in sea water, it will end up being an insurance
claim

Real ghost ships and their stories are fascinating.

The Baychimo was abandoned while stuck in ice in 1939. Eventually it broke free and was sighted and even boarded by other curious sailors until 1969.

The really scary one though IMO, is the Kaz II, which was found idling off the Great Barrier Reef with lunch laid out on the table, a laptop open and on, and all the lifeboats on board. Eventually it was theorized that one of the folks on board fell into the water and the others jumped in to save them which left the boat slowly putting away from them, probably just out of reach and just slow enough to drive you mad before drowning.
