I'm with PETA. If I haven't had meat in a few months I'm liable to take a big bite out of her.

How is that fair!?

You have to go vegan but your girlfriend doesn't have to limit her meat intake!?

PETA does this sh*t because they are attention whores, and the media then gives them just want they want. Just ignore them. They are hypocrites and animal killers, as you will learn if you watch the Penn and Teller "Bullsh*t" episode about them.

I think they need to properly clarify their pussy-abuse stance.

Their original ad slogan was, "Carrots make you beat your wife!"

It's true. I went vegan and ended up with carpal tunnel.

They are sensationalist attention whoring scum.

And agreed, the penn and teller episode is very elucidative.

Yes, increasing a man's intake of phytoestrogens from ingesting refined soy products is certain to improve said man's performance in the bedroom.

i used to support PETA

i would tell others PETA had to go over-the-edge in order to draw
attention to a cause and away from your porn addiction for five
seconds.

one weekend i saw a bird in a local food store parking lot.
that bird was in need of a friend who knew what to do.

called PETA in hopes of being hooked to a local chapter type Rep
someone who could help that injured bird.

what i got was a succession of recorded phone numbers.
no one live. no one there. could not get help.

PETA broke my heart. f@ck PETA.
if you can't put action to words
you aren't worth shiat to me
and that poor little bird that needed help that day.

So I can either eat a normal healthy omnivorous diet, or I can carefully plan out my vegan diet to ensure I get enough vitamins, minerals, and amino acids for normal health since without due diligence it is very easy to miss out on several via a generically vegan diet that isn't properly planned out.

Thanks, but I'll take the diet that doesn't involve riskily low levels of necessary vitamins and minerals for normal bodily health, the one that my body is evolutionarily inclined to naturally.

I could see where it could be applicable. Not so much for the socio-political aspects, like quitting meat gave someone the power to release their inner Rocco Siffredi, but because most people going vegan would end up freeing up a lot of their metabolic process as it no longer works out all the disastrous stuff most people eat, not just meat but all the crap. If weight was lost the crank begins to be a bit bigger(from losing fupa weight), confidence grows, metabolism is running on the high...yea I could see where a dude who had a pretty crappy diet, could begin to wreck his girl making the change. But that wouldn't require being a vegan. You could do that on a solid diet that included meat as well, though.

Walker: watch the Penn and Teller "Bullsh*t" episode about them

You know, I've never seen that episode, but every time someone brings it up I go looking for evidence to back the claims it makes and find exactly nothing. In fact, every time I go digging, it seems like the basic argument is "PETA euthanises animals, therefore PETA is bad". And every time I try to find anything on that it's just a bunch of right-wing crap sites and industry groups regurgitating one generic talking point about the kill rate of one year with no context or explanation.

I would love if somebody could point me to some actual evidence of these claims about how PETA is so bad, because all I ever find when I look is crap from lobby groups with a vested interest in hating on PETA. And I'm not going to seek out Penn and Teller because, amusing as they may be, I've seen them too many times go full retard on something because they're absolutely convinced that their way is the only way. They're just too willing to stretch the truth out like silly putty to press their points. Even when I agree with them, especially on religion, I've found myself annoyed sometimes when they make some pretty ridiculously specious arguments to press the agenda.

I'm not sure they are hypocrites. My understanding of their philosophy is that they are against humans using animals for anything: clothes, food, pets, laboratory test subjects, entertainment, education, work, etc...

So one could argue that since they are against pet ownership, the only thing to do is kill them. There is a chance that it will go back to civilization and ends up a someone's pet if they release them in the wild. (And doing that to a domestic animal would be cruel but I don't think they care about that.)

What about the PETA advocates who have pets? They're just dumb and don't understand what they are supporting. PETA tolerates them because of the money they bring in.

Yeah. I really liked P&T until my lady got me the first season DVD of Bullshiat. It was OK, then I got these same feelings. Lotta careful editing, lotta missing the point. Way different than James Randi, who only went after the real fake idiots, and definitively skewered them, like when he had zero expression on his face when someone was trying to cold read him. Awesome stuff, and P&T just didn't come close.

Fark PETA. They fund quasi-terrorist actions to get their messages across. Never mind that the whole "meat is murder" message is farking retarded (mankind didn't get here by eating grass), they go so far overboard in ways even their shock ads can't express that the only attention they deserve is that of a thorough investigation by the FBI and the IRS.

Absolutely. Plus what chick wants some girly scrawny vegan who's afraid to eat the poor dead animals. Even if you've upped your tantric ability good luck finding a chick that actually respects you as a man enough to let you use it on her.

I agree. PETA causes all animal advocates and vegetarians to be painted in a bad light because of their antics and posturing. Who speaks to the masses about the common sense of respecting all life and feeling empathy? Instead, we get a bunch of jackasses who seem to illicit more of a backlash against animal welfare. Never call a PR department to help an injured animal. I took the crow I found to a wildlife management place, where they're too busy actually making a difference in the lives of animals to be attention whores.

So if you claim that water prevents dehydration in Europe, you can go to jail, but PETA can claim that going vegan makes you better in bed with no repercussions?

I can understand the EU being stupidly nit-picky when it comes to advertising, but they need to be consistent.

I think everyone should eat what they can digest. People don't realize that most of our health problems stem from our diet. Everyone of us has mild food allergies to something and that's what is causing problems. I suggest everyone get tested with electro dermal testing (your kids too) and find out what foods your body cannot process and eat accordingly.

I'm not even vegetarian, but have been reading up on nutrition (I can't convince my autistic 6-year-old to eat meat).

At least for essential amino acids (complete protein), it turns out you don't have to have them all in the same meal, or even the same day. It's hard to get an essential amino acid deficiency without a lab-created diet or other such extraordinary measures.

That's a pretty good comparison, actually. Hitchens would be another one. Although he could be a dick, I always felt like he was being an honest dick even if I didn't agree with what he was saying, usually regarding his politics.

Penn and Teller? Eeehhhh.... I think they ought to stick to comedy. I just find myself thinking they're more about pressing their agenda than about laying out some hard and objective truth when they start talking about politics, religion, etc.

I like how people get all bent out of shape about an ACT OF CONSENTUAL AND ENJOYABLE SEX is "violent" and "DV" and "bad"... but Dannon can have a commercial of a woman head butting and physically assaulting a man over yogurt and it gets a big laugh...

PETA pepole are idiots. It's one of the few things you can make a generalization about and be completely correct.
I get it, you have bleeding hearts because your life has had so little strife in it that you've had to find a purpose to be butthurt about something.
I'll put 'em with ELF and ALF as jackarses that do more harm than good.
The P&T episode is relatively simple to find facts on
While they aren't the voice of the gods, they're dead on target with most things.
And that episode is one of the better ones.

My neice is a vegetarian and she's getting chubby. So much for 'healthy'.

My nephew is a vetarian and he's almost healthy, but we all think he'd have been taller had he not spend his first 12 years eating spagetti noodles with butter on them for two meals a day.

Me? I got leaner eating a lot of meat...and salads.

I plan my diet based on the teeth in my mouth.
Incisors, canines, bicuspids; theses are not designed for grains.
I will quit eating other animals when I grow new teeth.
