Maybe this will teach them not to use steak as markers.

Step 1: Steal trail markers
Step 2: Musher goes over cliff
Step 3: Dinner!

What they need is a Liam Neeson to guard those trail markers.

Coat those signs in wolf poison. Sorted.

You're a bad person for saying anything of the sort.

Better to run a race with no markers than hurt a wolf.

Even worse is the fake trail the wolves made with the markers, leading into the side of a mountain with a picture of a tunnel painted on it.

Trespassers dump wood all over wolves property.

So you think it's better to possibly kill a human, but spare a wolf? What is wrong with you?

What if they just made the signs very unpalatable to wolves? Perhaps a liberal dose of concentrated peppers, or perhaps skunk spray?

Wolves don't do that. That sounds more like a coyote.

Maybe a coyote in wolves' clothing? They can be quite wily.

"Race not deadly enough? Steal markers!" - Courage Wolf

"Eat markers, shiat race course!" - Insanity Wolf

Maybe if they stopped using little pigs in straw houses and young girls in red hoods as trail markers, this wouldn't be an issue.

I like your idea of using a unpalatable coating - but "possibly kill a human"? C'mon son!

Lance Mackey complained about a missing marker at a critical junction that led him into someone's driveway.

That sounds just as dangerous as the moose that wouldn't get off the trail.

/mind you, moose bites can be pretty nasty

It's a race that includes very significant stretches of wilderness in the 1,000 mile length through Alaska and the Yukon. In the dead of winter. It's not like a stroll across a South Carolina golf course. If they get far enough off the trail, it's quite possible for them to die of hypothermia before being found.

I think all sports could be improved with the addition of wolves. Exciting for the fans, justification for the player salaries and a good reason for ownership to invest heavily in ensuring a continued wolf population. There really is no down side.

That would almost make soccer watchable. Fans would not stand for it though. The weolves would score too many goals.
