Yes, submitter we're all well aware of the cost of cleaning up Republican economic disasters.

Meanwhile, a quick look at what's happening around the world could provide a glimpse of our own future.

Greece saw more violent riots this week after the government's approval of austerity measures.

The credit rating agency Moody's also downgraded six European countries, including Italy and Spain, amid concerns over the continent's debt crisis and sluggish economy.

Here's my question to you: Where is the U.S. headed if Pres. Obama is adding an estimated $5 trillion to the national debt in his first term?

that is some first-class trolling. good work cafferty.

2012-02-15 07:45:34 PM
It would be more accurate to say that the debt would have grown by that amount during his first term. Bush's policies - e.g., wars and tax cuts - have had a continuing effect on the debt. Obama's NEW policies have added a fraction of that claimed $5T.

2012-02-15 07:45:46 PM
Yeah Bush spending his last year giving away everything for nothing and supporting policy to bankrupt the country had NOTHING to do with the debt acquired under Obama's time in office. Nooo when Bush left everything was working perfectly and we were raking in money....oh no that was Clinton, nevermind.

Basically, yes the national debt is $6.6T higher. While most of it was added while Obama was President, it is almost all Bush policies that are actually responsible.

Remember how the GOP kept the cost of imperialism off the balance sheet? Yeah, about that...

Are some people still ignoring the fact that Obama put the cost of two wars officially in the budget, as opposed to leaving it off the books in special funding requests?

2012-02-15 08:50:51 PM
Yeah, let's see . . .
- Two Bush wars
- The Bush tax cuts for the rich
- The Bush recession

Yep, that Obama sure ran up the deficit.

2012-02-15 08:51:26 PM
Hey, everyone! Why don't we hand power over to the people that utterly destroyed the world's economy in the first place. They clearly have learned their lessons now that they are advocating more of the same, but doubly so. We jut weren't conservative enough last time. We need BIGGER tax cuts! and MORE wars. Then we can finally fix this. Let's take back America!

2012-02-15 08:51:50 PM
Judging from the comments so far, its amazing how powerless and ineffective Obama has been in the eyes of his supporters.

/1,000+ days since the Democratic controlled Senate passed a budget

And I laugh when they say spending has been way down.

Oh wait. No I don't!

The big difference between the criticisms of the former supporters of Obama (of which I'm one) and the herpderp right wingers is that our criticism is valid. Morons like you are afraid of soshializums and communests while we're concerned about the ongoing oligarchy of which Obama's either supportive of or captured by.

Obama's now responsible for Bush's bad long-term financial decisions? Who knew?

Maybe we should do something about that. For example raise taxes and cut military spending.

What I've gotten out of reading the posts in this thread thus far:

"libtards:" charts showing the math about how costs were incurred during Bush's presidency
Republicans: "bullshiat" and "all the libtards who posted before me can't accept the truth"

So, geez, libtards! Just, come on already! I mean, what, can't you see? It's so obvious, I shouldn't have to tell you, because you just should know. But wait, you don't, because you're libtards. Burrrrrn!

LOL Obama.

2012-02-15 09:02:48 PM
I'm sticking with Bush never had a negative real interest rate on the debt, so the comparison's bullshiat subby.

Zoophagous: Maybe we should do something about that. For example raise taxes and cut military spending.

Can I send you back in time to, say, 2001 and have you slip into George W. Bush's skin and become president? Something tells me the simultaneous tax cuts and two wars weren't a great thing in the long run for our government's spending...

I guess it's tougher to come up with creative ways of spending massive amounts of money than ways of not spending it.

I'll tell you what, here's something that you can ruminate on. I've been an independent voter for almost 40 years and have voted for almost as many Republicans as Democrats in all levels of elections from local to national. From what I see now, I can not imagine ever voting for another Republican again, Ever. And I'm not alone. So troll away, but the Republican party is headed for obscurity if they don't seriously change course.

Ah, I think perhaps you have confused mocking with arguing. I do fear that our icy friend may have suffered a cerebral event. He has developed an inability to form coherent sentences, which seems to have superseded his earlier inability to form coherent thoughts.
