Host: Unfreakable
Description: World Fark Party II - Las Vegas Nevada: March 30 - Apr 1
Date/Time: March 30, 2012 - 06:00 PM (local time)
Party Info: This is the second annual World Fark Party in Las Vegas Nevada. The event will include Drew and many of the Fark staff as well as Farkers from all over the United States and possibly the world.

Thursday (3/29) night will be a pre-event Pub Crawl on the Vegas strip starting at 6PM and will go as follows:
- Treasure Island: Breeze Bar
- Mirage: Rhumbar
- Caesars: La Salsa
- Paris: the sports bar in the back
- Treasure Island: Breeze Bar
Watch the Twitter hashtag #farklv2012 for updates.

Friday night (3/30) will be the main event in the Treasure Island ballroom from 6PM - 10PM. This includes all entertainment and a catered dinner, which will be a fully staffed buffet with several stations serving caesar salad, baby mozzarella and tomato salad, antipasto salad with roasted peppers, artichokes and grilled asparagus, cheese tortellini, tomato cream sauce and spinach, parmesan style stuffed chicken, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, garlic bread, parmesan breadsticks and focaccia, hearth baked breads, assorted biscotti, cannoli, Italian rum cakes and tiramisu, fresh brewed coffee, decaffeinated coffee, iced and international hot teas.

The cost for Friday night is $75 in advance or $100 at the door. The link for registration is here: Vegas Fark Party 2012. Space is limited, and the link will close as soon as we hit the maximum. A PARTIAL list of guests this year include:
- Burnie Burns (Red vs. Blue)
- Mike "Nug" Nahrgang, an actor and comedian that you probably know better as "Mustard Man"
- Mike Phirman (Hard 'n Phirm)
- and the finale will be the music of Paul and Storm.

After the Friday night event, there'll be karaoke at Imperial Palace

There will be a poker tournament on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 pm in the Treasure Island poker room, and several informal events on Saturday evening, including a pub quiz challenge in the evening (location TBD).

Both Friday and Saturday during the day from 10am - 5pm, we'll have a cabana Farkabana poolside at Treasure Island. It includes fruit plate along with water and soft drinks, seating for up to 10 people, LCD TV, refrigerator, ceiling fans, deluxe lounge chairs, day beds and cabana Farkabana host. It should be fairly easy to spot the Fark group.

We have a rate of $139 per night (flat, no Resort Fee) at Treasure Island. To join us there, make your reservation: 888-503-8999 between the hours of 8:00AM to 7:00PM Pacific Time. Group code is FARK12. Hotel registration deadline is March 6th to guarantee that rate. You can also click this link to make reservations directly: Treasure Island Reservations - Fark

I might have a free airline ticket for someone who otherwise wouldn't be going. Caveats: It's southwest, there's blackout times. And it's southwest.

I have a couple people I'm offering the ticket to first, but if they decline I'll open it up here. To qualify, you have to not be going and be flexible in when you go, since I have no control over that. And you probably will have to buy me a drink, since I have to pay the 10 dollar security fee for the ticket. I'll post more in a day or two if it opens up.

You know a few people had this exact conversation at the SF fark party. These things bring folks together for a common reason. Don't dwell on whether someone is a tfer or a liter, just have a good time. As far as not knowing folks, hell, you play the trombone, how can that not be a conversation starter!!

See you there!
/no, I don't play the trombone

I'm 4'11'' female. I am a trombone player.. in fact I have three trombones. No they are not rusty. And no I'm not interested in making them that way. No I'm not a lesbian.. hum.. does that cover the normal questions?

I was a tfer for years. I just closed the credit card down I used and was to lazy to reup it with a new one.

And I look forward to meeting everyone as well. I'm usually very social, but for some reason this event is making a lil' shy.

*smiles*

Last time I was in Vegas, I started the weekend bombed off my ass on seven-and sevens. And that was the first impression I made on my sister-in-law-to-be.

The bar for this weekend is set pretty high!

Crazy tux person aside, do people really dress up?

From the pics I've seen, the women dress up, while many of the guys dress like frat boys.

Does the sausage with peppers and onions come with pasta? I'm thinking penne.

So, who's up for a pre-pub crawl dinner for Thursday evening?

Helpful hint: I found a cheapo deal booking the hotel and flight as a package on one of those travel sight dealios. The whole thing will end up being cheaper than my flight alone last year. I know this is probably pretty basic travel 101-type info but I was pleasantly surprised.

So, are people REALLY dressing up?
Seriously what's the scoop?

I'd never been to Vegas so I brought suits because I thought everyone would be all Rat Pack and swanky and shiate and didn't bother wearing them, it's fooking hot down there. It's a lot more casual than I expected. Wear whatever you're confortable in.

2012-03-16 08:11:10 PM
Roman Fyseek: Booked flight. Booked Room. Booked event.

Now, to find somebody to watch my dog who may or may not shiat on my rug each morning.

On the upside, if she doesn't shiat, she'll at least piss.

I expect pictures of you kissing Mike. Don't disappoint me.

Great. I bought my Fark Party ticket already. So much for arriving Thursday.

yeah, i think people spent more time in poolside attire than anything swanky. Some of the ladies wore dresses at the night events and there was one person in a tux (you know who you are). Vegas is one of those places where you can wear burmuda shorts and a tshirt all the time or you can dress to the nines depending on where you're gonna be hanging out. I'm not really sure Bahama Breeze (or whatever the heck that bar in TI was called) has that "money, baby" kinda vibe, iykwim.

I swear it is one of my greatest regrets that I haven't been to a Fark Party yet. Even when there was one in my town I wasn't able to go, and seeing all the hubub about this one is driving me nuts.

Long story short, I'm just ranting publicly because I can, and given this super-long thread I doubt anybody will see my biatching. But I will make it to one.....someday...

I wish I were going. I'd really like to get my face slapped by some of you ladies, as long as it wouldn't cost too much extra.

And golly gee whiz, wouldn't it be nice if there was some way to commemorate the event, like t-shirts maybe? And wouldn't it be even neater if those of us that can't go could also feel a part of it too? Hopefully someone will save the day.
