The second article down is even better. It shows what a pussy russell crowe is. Man I'd love to kick his candy ass.

2003-10-22 12:44:13 PM
I used to abuse animals before I was exposed to the reality of what I was doing by PETA.

Now I spend my time abusing PETA members instead.

2003-10-22 12:44:52 PM
There is a degree of serious mental illness in all PETA members.
(undocumented, unprovable, factoid plucked out of thin air)

PETA can BEATA my MEATA

Doublesecretprobation

I know plenty of non-farkers that hate PETA. I suspect its because, while their intentions may often be good, they go about trying to convince people in the least-planned, least-interesting, and most-offensive way possible. Unhappy meals - Ronald McDonald with a bloody knife? Yeah...thats for kids. And now, accussing people of bribery with no evidence, substantial or otherwise, to support it. It blows my mind that there isn't one rational person in that organization that doesn't say "hey, maybe we shouldn't splash people with paint or dress up like cows."

Roy Horn: the other white meat.

2003-10-22 12:46:32 PM
I thought bribery in Vegas was a given.

Comparing the act to a circus is a poor argument. Ever been to a circus, or worked at one, or even just read about one? They do not socialize their animals. They do not provide habitats for them to live in, and they sure as Hell don't take care of them. It's just more meat for the show, and if maintanence becomes too costly they will cut the animal loose or let it die. Now compare that to Seigfried and Roy, men who spend years socializing animals before they even think about training them for acts. They build habitats for the animals they have, and donate extensively to animal groups (good luck finding a circus that does any of those things). All those years performing and not one audience member was attacked; that says something about their method of training. And this one event happens because Roy tripped and the tiger tried to catch him like a cub (and then showed remorse for doing so, went back to its transport cage on its own accord) and people are hooting and hollaring about the end of the world; how these guys have been abusing animals for decades.

PETA is a cult which markets to impressionable youth who need a cause to rally around to feel important. They are no different than Earth First, Animal Liberation Front, or Earth Liberation front. They can take their goals and shove them up their asses until they show some farking tact. And if somebody reading this is in PETA I have this to say: good for you. But remember, one day you will out grow all of this childish crap that PETA is slinging.

2003-10-22 12:47:47 PM
"so why do people hate peta so much? oh wait, because this is fark and that's what farkers do."

I love animals. I am a strong believer/supporter in/of animal rights.

PETA sucks ass.

That is all.

2003-10-22 12:48:21 PM
why would the USDA get involved? unless they were inspecting the animals to be eaten. mmm tiger steak.
wouldn't this be more of a job for osha? hehe

2003-10-22 12:49:48 PM
Well, they make a fuss about this cat, but not about the kitten who was spraypainted. (see yesterday's thread)

I think the latter was much worse.

2003-10-22 12:49:48 PM undflickertail

I would pay to see this cat tear that spraypainter a new hole.

2003-10-22 12:51:45 PM
Holy crap, this is a new low even for PETA.

The alleged "bribe" was tickets to the show. The people who were given those tickets were inspectors charged with making sure the show was ok.

I'll say it again; they were given tickets to the show. Are we to believe that the inspectors would be banned from the show? How would they inspect it?

Sometimes these PETA pussies take their shiate too far. If you think they were bad to the animals, say so. Don't try to make headlines by saying that the inspectors were allowed to go to the show.

2003-10-22 12:52:04 PM
I think that says much about PETA's priorities, undflickertail. You rarely hear PETA go after something which hasn't made headlines prior.

Then again I guess it is kind of hard to drum up new members and donations if you, you know, stick to protesting the mistreatment of animals instead of the protection thereof.

2003-10-22 12:52:36 PM
Jar Jar Binks-Laden: Now I spend my time abusing PETA members instead.

That's no fun. They're too malnourished to put up a decent struggle.

2003-10-22 12:53:07 PM
PETA SUSPECTS THAT favoritism or bribery may have played a role in the USDAs repeated failure to cite Siegfried & Roy for the unsafe handling of adult tigers who were routinely allowed dangerously close to the audience with no safety barrier,

so now they are actually worried about human life?

Hey hey how about this one.

People Eating Tasty Animals!!!

OMG IN YOUR FACE PETA.. PZNWED!!!!111

2003-10-22 12:54:46 PM
Typical PETA, "throw it against the wall and see what sticks" logic. If you accuse anyone of cruelty who is within 10 feet of an animal, you're bound to be right once in a while. Which is why the overuse the word "often" in a lot of their info: Animals in labs are "often" left without food and water for days. Which is like saying the Japanese "often" invade China.

PETA would actually perform a worthwhile service if they were not such a joke.

2003-10-22 12:54:54 PM
PETA and Rainbow Push, perfect together.

(In hell, that is)

2003-10-22 12:55:00 PM
I'd say PETA's already more than disqualified themselves for being any kind of political group that would say or do anything sensible.

They're just dangerous extremists, a step or two below terrorists.

here's some rope for em

2003-10-22 12:55:40 PM
I hate to use the same pic twice in one day... but it seems more appropriate in this thread.

Sorry if I hurt anyone's eyes with this.

2003-10-22 12:55:42 PM
I think this is the icing on the cake for PETA. They really have their head up their ass with this one. I used to work for Mirage and they gave out free tickets all the time to the show. The show sucked in the first place. By them saying it was a bribe is just udder stupidity. PETA is being totally stupid now, first if a show in Vegas isn't full it doesn't look good for the show. They always give tickets away so the show can look full HOW is that bribery of any kind, PETA can go f theirselves....

2003-10-22 12:56:16 PM
Damn PETAphiles!

2003-10-22 12:57:00 PM

So even when the animals are injuring the people, PETA gets pissed?

Just a bunch of stupid hippies. If they were at all reasonable people might actually listen to them.

2003-10-22 12:57:19 PM
chudstud: There are nothing between you and the tigers and the show.. I have sat in the "pit" (ie best seats) and you can feel the heat from the animals breath...

{/ the show, was awesome too.

2003-10-22 12:58:09 PM
I would be more impressed with the article if it had actually insinuated that they bribed the officials. Allowing them to watch the show is mandatory, not bribery.

I think I'll start a new advocacy group:

People for The Ethical Treatment of Other People Who Got Mauled by Frickin' Tigers (PETOPWGMFT)

First order of business: kick Ingrid Newkirk square in the nuts.

(don't tell me she ain't got 'em! That's a man, baby!)

AlgertMan
It's one white tiger PETA won't defend.

2003-10-22 01:05:04 PM
Very unfair and cruel. Roy Horn truly loves those animals. PETA should find other lie's to tell.

2003-10-22 01:05:22 PM
I honestly believe that if we ignore these "people", PETA will go away. They thrive on reaction. If they don't get any then they'll have to find real jobs.

2003-10-22 01:05:40 PM
Well I suppose pointing out the corruption of others is acceptable, but only after they have been attacked by a large white tiger.
Do you think any Petafreak even considered Sigfried and Roy before the attack? Jump on the bandwagon and get some headlines you animal rights freedom fighters. I'll be over here skinnin' some puppies.

2003-10-22 01:06:46 PM
ArmadilloTamer - That is AWESOME! I'm gonna steal that one.

Pizzle - My God man, show some respect for your fellow farkers! That is hideous!!!

FifthColumn

Unfortunately, some won't. It's called the "PETA PAN" syndrome.

2003-10-22 01:07:35 PM
Its just not fark if there isn't a PETA link a week.

2003-10-22 01:08:39 PM
Do these people wear tinfoil coats because they're unwilling to wear fur or leather? Is their unbalanced, meatless diet finally addling their wits?

2003-10-22 01:08:43 PM
PETA can bite me.

2003-10-22 01:08:50 PM
Its called a Courtesy! The USDA are inspectors. And with that they are allowed to go back stage and observe the procedures. This happens not just for S&R but also for all circuses. The only thing PETA is complaining about is tickets ?!?!?

I have a circus background and have met many USDA inspectors. After they come by and do their inspection many times we provide them with free tickets to the show so they can OBSERVE how the animals are treated.

What happened in the S&G show is a tragedy. But thats the risk you take when you work with exotic animals. Remember there is a difference between TRAINED & TAMED.

Peta will never achieve their final goal and that is to force us all to become vegetarians and/or Vegans and steal Fido & Kitty from your backyard. Their stupid antics just prove how marginalized that they have become. I dont know if anyone has done it on FARK.COM but a recap of all the stupid and idiotic PETA media campaigns would be fun.

My personal fav Beer is better for your kids than Milk
Or trying to force the Green Bay Packers to change their name
Or trying to force the town of Fishkill, NY to change their name to Fishsave. (Kill is Dutch for river/stream. connect the dots)

I dont PETA to go if they left I would end up missing a huge source of free laughs in my life.

2003-10-22 01:09:16 PM
Now don't get me wrong, I love PETA, stuffed with steak and some cheese or hell, even some BBQ'd pulled pork. That's the good thing about PETA, you can just stuff all that meat in there and gobble it down! You don't even get your fingers dirty!

2003-10-22 01:11:05 PM
PETA, what a reliable source of information.

2003-10-22 01:11:50 PM
When is the media going to realize that everything PETA comes out and says is made up by a bunch of attention whores who have nothing better to do with their time?

PETA seems to have inexhaustable resources for wasting time. I surely hope that the general public realizes that PETA's primary goal is to grab publicity. I never see the leaders of this "organization" - and I use that term loosely - actually doing anything than holding news conferences. Much like the Raelians, a similar fringe organization of kooks and crackpots, it's all about the headlines.
