This is also my first single Valentine's Day since 1984. I'm enjoying it as I did Christmas. Amazing how you can appreciate a holiday so much more without the hustle and bustle. Need to get a new dog, though--don't have dog visitation this VD.

Okay, the dog part made me sad. I guess I'm lucky that I get to go home & cuddle with my little guy. Although I have no choice, he'll be on my lap whether I want him there or not.

I think that The Oatmeal did it better.

Honestly, I am shocked that Valentines Day stayed relevant after elementary school. Like all those other random holidays you made stupid construction paper prints out of and gave to your parents, I thought we were all going to grow up and not have to deal with any of it...I was wrong...I was so so wrong...

This is my 6th one in a row. But the roomate is havng all her single GFs come over tonight and they are doing nail hair and trash men. So I get to listen to that. But hey they are making me dinner!

Sent a couple of these to my fiance and that is all she is getting. Hope she likes them.

While in Seoul around V-day a couple years ago, I happened to come across a simple stand selling little Valentines day cards. One of them was wonderful. A simple red card, about the size of two business cards, bold red with the words "You are not ugly." written on it. I bought three.

I've never had one and am also not ugly. I think it's more to do with my extreme introversion. I've been told I give off a vibe that says "For the love of God don't talk to me." I should probably work on that... but the thing is, I actually don't want 90% of people to talk to me, so maybe I should just roll with it.

You sound like me - especially the part about extreme introversion. I had a boyfriend once, but it's not happening again anytime soon. I'm not exactly hot, but I'm not ugly either. I generally don't want to talk to most people. Sometimes, it's that I don't really care to, and other times, I may want to talk to people, I just have no idea what to say. I'm horribly socially awkward so most of the time it's not really worth trying to socialize, cause I'll just epic fail. Making friends has never been easy. Meeting guys is next to impossible. They don't just knock on the door to see if any single girls are hiding in their bedrooms. Oh well. A little affection might be nice but I'm not trying too hard here. I usually prefer to be alone, so meh.
