(The Mercury)
If you are Australia's most notorious hired gun, brag about having killed 19 people, and go by the nickname "Chopper", your son's Little Athletics group probably won't let you anywhere near the starter's pistol

To those of you who don't know, Eric Bana made his break in the movies by portraying Chopper in the
eponymous film
. Awesome movie I can't recommend highly enough.
Strangely though, Bana's portrayal of Chopper has
itself been parodied
(nsfw language).
Funny character.

That's not Eric Bana, for f*ck's sake. That's a parody of Eric Bana's characterisation of Chopper Reid.

The problem with chopper is that he was always a top bloke, it's just he was a tad... unpredictable.
Unpredictable people are just that. One moment your laughing with them over a beer and the next your getting your face sewn back on after a glassing.
So, yeah. Go be a top bloke someplace else. Please...
On second thoughts you can stay here and I'll go.

It's abuse of the system on the part of the little athletics club
You don't need a working with children check if you are volunteering to help with an activity your own child participates in.

My cousin thinks Poida is the funniest thing ever. I kinda disagree, but then again, I didn't have to grow up in a household where my mother was dying of MS like my cousin did, the poor bastard.
Gotta give Bana props for making my cousin laugh during some really shiatty times for him and his family.

As someone who has friends in Australia, a lot of them really dislike Ronnie John's parody of Chopper, since it's over the top and makes for an annoying character.
Now Bana on the other hand, his Poida put him on the map Down Under, but he had to get serious and play the straight man to make it in America. I found it funny after a bit of research how an Aussie redneck (a Bogan) is pretty much identical to the American versions, from the love of cheap beer and cars down to the mullets.
