If there's absolutely one lesson in life I want my child to learn, it's that when somebody posts mean things about you online, you should empty your pistol clip into something that person owns.

Pocket Ninja: If there's absolutely one lesson in life I want my child to learn, it's that when somebody posts mean things about you online, you should empty your pistol clip into something that person owns.

Another lesson in life is to move somewhere that allows you to empty that pistol clip magazine in the field by your house, near the busy road, and across the street from other houses.

I'm basing my parenting philosophy on nuggets of wisdom gleaned from the first two Karate Kid movies.

I was just explaining to my daughter the other day the concept of mercy, and how it has no place in our household.

Pocket Ninja: pistol clip

I have a .45 ACP pistol that uses clips. The clips look like these:

The scary part is that he was carrying a 1911 with the hammer down on a live round...

Haven't seen the video, but are you sure it wasn' a Para 1911 with their LDA trigger?

My only problem with this is that he didn't take it to a range and shoot it with a .50 cal sniper rifle.

/next time.....

Yeah, next thing you know, she thinks she can spend all of her college money on a Bonzai store since they cost like $10K a piece.

If my son really cared about the internet, I'd shoot his laptop...but since he's a jock (I'm so ashamed), he probably laughs at the nerds in his school.

If this is how he communicates with his daughter, I'd hate to be his co-worker.

Police said good job, CPS apparently didn't find any problem, daughter got a job offer and he is refusing to do tv interviews. Things turned out better than expected.

I went back and forth with this and in general I'm in agreement that it was a pretty dumb thing to do. But sometimes, when dealing with my own 12 year old daughter, I get where he was coming from.

Yup, he did nothing illegal. Discharging a licensed gun on his own property. He made no threats to anyone with the gun, and his daughter wasn't harmed.

Went much, much, much better than how other parents would have reacted.

That describes most of America. What, are you afraid that the bullet will penetrate the mantle and cause a volcano or something?

FTFA: Jordan's post also said if he had to do it again he would, "Not be smoking a cigarette ... not have used the word "ass" in my comment directed at my daughter ... would have worn my Silverbelly Stetson, not my Tilley hat if I'd known that image was going to follow me the rest of my life and I'd probably have cleaned my boots."

ok, I'm starting to like this guy

Is this one of those threads where trolls get trolled by other trolls until the level of derp rises to critical levels and the rest of us reading said thread simultaneously undergo self-combustion from the sheer amount of stupid and lack of punctuation?

2012-02-13 04:37:25 PM
People who YouTube themselves disciplining their children have some serious issues. People who think guns are a funny thing to incorporate into the discipline of their children on topics that don't involve gun safety also have serious issues. I would have thought that these things were fairly obvious, but apparently I'm mistaken.

The part that got me was in an interview where he said, "The second lesson I want her to learn is the value of a dollar." Nothing quite backs that up like putting a couple of holes in a perfectly functional laptop.

2012-02-13 04:39:45 PM
A bunch of M-80s duct taped to the laptop? Now THAT would have taught her a lesson.

Well, hell if I knew I was going to be such a success, I would have worn my church jeans. And my lucky nascar belt buckle that explains why I'm pro-life; it's the size of a dinner plate. Annnnnd not smoke a cig, but my corncob pipe, because I'm dignified dag nabbit!

As far as I can tell we have had a constant flux of differing consequences since the initial incident.

dcigary: Discharging a licensed gun on his own property.

Not likely. Very few places in this country actually require licensing or registration of handguns. Well, unless you count television-land.

Seems they didn't have a problem with it at all.

Just the busy bodies who called in after watching the video did.

My daughters know they are just borrowing the laptops I bought, and that I reserve the right to dispose of them as I see fit.

No, that was the last one about this subject. Who knows though, this could go critical with derp too.

He shot the laptop, last night.

This guy is awesome. He traded tit for tat with his daughter, one-upping her online rant. She will learn the value of a dollar by figuring out exactly how much it costs to buy a new laptop, along with ammo for his gun.

I would have gone office space on it though, sledgehammer style.
I'm saving my ammo for the zombies.

close enough, though you should really take your gun porn pics while you have it out for cleaning.
