So the Greeks really feel they've hit rock bottom? To me it looks like it's just another layer if they keep burning one of the few good things going for them, which is tourism.

Why aren't there more riots here in the US?

And I mean riots that aren't racial. Race riots are scary and unfair because only minorities can take part. I just want a good old fashioned riot-riot that we ALL can enjoy in harmony and equality.

I just want a riot, in general. Is that so much to ask?

I assume you're not being completely serious but a good riot would be fun. Barracade my neighborhood against another neighborhood and turn it into a fortified position. Deck out the cars with spikes and mount guns on them. It could be like the suburban version of mad max

if instead of tear-gas, rubber bullets and water canons ...

if they used REAL bullets.
killing 80,000 violent protesters would have solved a TON of problems.
1) lowered unemployment
2) created a ton of jobs in the body removal/burial field
3) a lot of new work for the lawyers representing the dead
4) a lot of open jobs in the police and government when the people who were responsible were sacked

Sounds like you're a bit young to remember the LA Riots in the 90s from the Rodney King decision. Sure, on the surface it seemed racially oriented, but it pretty quickly turned into a looter free for all. I don't remember a whole lot of people leaning back and thinking "good times, good times." I guess we got that one Sublime song out of it though.

I remember reading how the korean shop owners quickly formed militias and we're getting in gun battles with the rioters. Barricaded in their shops firing AKs.....crazy stuff

What your talking about is basic abuse of power. Happens all the time. People being oppressed, and all that. And it's boring as hell. What I'm looking for is complete anarchy! Not the abuse of the law, but the complete lack of it. Gangs, burning and raping and will, neighbors banding together at first for protection, but then attacking other neighbor hoods for resources. You haven't lived until you've burned a house down that's still full of people. Or raped a girl in front of her family, and then disfigured her horribly. Of course that's after you've murdered every male member of her family. Now that's FUN!

Or, they could start by burning down their own houses for believing that they could retire at 50, cheat on their taxes, and have the government provide everything for them they were too lazy to earn for themselves. An unproductive populace with an overwhelming sense of entitlement, enabled by a greedy politicians and greedier bankers created this perfect storm. And the Germans have had enough of subsidizing their lazy cousins. Coming soon to an America near you (with Chinese uncle goodness).
