Smitty, here's a review:

One of these things is a person who produces nothing.

The other is a fiction, an organizational structure, which produces and sells a lot of goods and services.

These are two different things, probably more different, even, than the proverbial apple and orange.

(but personally, I say f*ck 'em both, they can pay the same 24% I'm paying - on a sh*tload less money than either of them take in.)

2012-02-13 11:59:08 AM
Subby: Liberals don't drop to their knees to suck off obscenely rich corporations just to thank them for existing. That's why Conservatives exist. We think they should all pay more.

2012-02-13 12:01:13 PM
I don't recall Apple running for President and complaining about it's tax rates while pretending to be a "common man" who shares the average citizen's concerns.

2012-02-13 12:02:25 PM
Ah... another one of those threads in which subby clearly expects the "libtards" to exhibit the same sort of hypocrisy that is hardwired into conservatives but instead finds a thread full of...

MisterTweak: f*ck 'em both, they can pay the same 24% I'm paying

2012-02-13 12:17:35 PM
Good point, it has been the liberals who are calling out for reducing corporate tax rates...

2012-02-13 12:36:32 PM
Apple should run as a Republican.

iPresident 2012

Does this mean subby thinks Apple should pay more in taxes? Or are they and Michelle Malkin just being whiny babies and comparing a person with a corporation to make some asinine point? If it is the latter I say, fark Subby, fark Malkin, and fark Apple's tax rate.

2012-02-13 12:37:41 PM
Whoops, this isn't a Malkin link.

But seriously.. fark her anyway.

Holy shiat, when did Apple announce the were running for president?

2012-02-13 02:00:44 PM
Uh, I use Apple products and think they should be taxed a higher rate, too.
But

Aarontology: I don't recall Apple running for President and complaining about it's tax rates while pretending to be a "common man" who shares the average citizen's concerns.

The issue. This is it. Take your bully attitude and go back to the closet.

Remember, corporations are people.

I love how, for some reason, Apple has become the default Evil Corporation for conservatives.

Sure, I've never seen a liberal on a Dell.

Politics aside, when I was on caltrain once I saw a guy wearing an apple logo t-shirt, listening to an ipod(possibly an iphone), while on an ipad wearing those hipster like glasses and kept trying to come up with reasons not to chuck my shoe at his face.

Chances are, he worked at an Apple store.

But, we know good God fearing Republicans wouldn't use Apple products.

If Apple were running for President, people might care more.

GE paid 0% taxes. Conservatives: *crickets*

Pretty much this.

Anything over 0% is too much. That's what we're complaining about right? Am I on the right bandwagon? Or are we trying to figure out ways to tax people more in a free society?

I hear apple raped and killed a woman in 1990.

Where are these crickets you're speaking of? Oh yeah, you made them up.

Apple should pay higher taxes.

Sincerely,
Libtard McGee

What does the tax rate that a person or corporation have to be everyone's concern? It is not their fault what they pay. The rates are set by the IRS/government. If you are going to find fault, find it with government, not the taxpayer.

2012-02-13 03:07:57 PM
Oranges to Apples?

2012-02-13 03:08:12 PM
Pretty sure I've been asking why ALL major corporations get such preferential tax loopholes when they haven't been doing as much to actually create jobs here.

2012-02-13 03:08:23 PM
Wait... when did Apple become something only liberals like? Do I have to force my dad to trade in his iMac? I'm confused.

You know something... with everyone connected, i bet (intended) that we could get a whole lot of decisions made pretty quickly in this country.
Hell, if over 50 million people vote on American Idol, I'm sure that it would be easy to get people to vote on policy.
There could be an app for that. Takes you to the topic, allows you to review it, then you decide.

What we need to do is get Hipsters to like NASCAR. Maximum trolling.

2012-02-13 03:09:21 PM
So the dirtbag pays significantly less tax than I do. And, no, I don't think I'm over-taxed. I make damned good money and I can afford to pay more taxes than the average Joe and I'm happy to do it. I enjoy the benefits of being a citizen of this country and my taxes make that possible. (though Wall Street would have us believe that they make everything possible.)

2012-02-13 03:09:29 PM
I thought corporations paid too many taxes?

I happen to think Apple paying a 12% tax rate is ridiculous, as well. We should raise the rates on both of them. Thanks, Repubs for bringing this to my attention.

They both should pay more.

But let's be honest, one makes things and the other is a vulture capitalist.

Lionel Mandrake: GE paid 0% taxes.

To be fair: NBC is written off as a charitable donation at this point.

Hey, at least they paid something, unlike some other corporations around here.

2012-02-13 03:11:58 PM
Where did this "liberals defend Apple no matter what" meme come from? You can either accuse me of hating all corporations, or loving Apple unconditionally. You can't have it both ways.

Make a choice and stick with it for once.

The "crickets" you hear are your two brain cells rubbing their legs together, subby.

Wait, you're telling me an organization's profits gets taxed at 12%, then it pays the remaining 88% out to shareholders who then get again taxed at 14%. It's almost like the money is being taxed at 26%!

Mitt Romney is a corporation?
