Wow, Daily Mail Reporter is a catty biatch.

2012-02-13 09:20:24 AM
He actually looks better than he's been for years.

2012-02-13 09:39:02 AM
He still kinda looks like Jim Morrison.

I can see him in the "Vince Neil Story" pretty easily.
Not that I would want to, mind you.

2012-02-13 11:02:43 AM
I can see him playing the Orson Wells story, eventually.

2012-02-13 11:05:43 AM
One of the greatest actors of our age. It's hard to believe he's 52. It seems like just yesterday he was playing the nerdy college kid in Real Genius.

2012-02-13 11:40:27 AM
Or Ronnie Van Zant.

It doesn't help that Kilmer's jacket is too small for him.

2012-02-13 12:17:09 PM
He shouldn't be doing anything right now that isn't "Top Secret 2." After that, he can do whatever.

2012-02-13 12:18:01 PM
He doesn't look bad in those pics, he's been heavier.

Now that he's a middle aged guy you can't expect him to look like he did two decades ago

2012-02-13 12:18:08 PM
Ow, ow, ow, ow, sweet bacon oh miiiiiiine...

FTA: Val Kilmer will be forever associated with his breakthrough role in 1991's The Doors.

Wrong, biatch!

Losing weight should be a moral imperative for him. But he has not yet begun to defile himself.

2012-02-13 12:19:28 PM
It looks like he's lost some weight from where he was back in his 'pie-for-breakfast-everyday' phase

2012-02-13 12:20:48 PM
You hit a point around age 46 or 47 when you have to eat & drink less AND exercise more just to break even. I'm twice as active today as I was 20 years ago, and I eat a much more responsible diet than I did then... but I'm still approaching my all-time max.

At some point, I'm going to have back off on the pasta and wine. That's what's killing me.

2012-02-13 12:21:53 PM
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Joanne Whalley literally broke his heart.

Take a look at his IMDB Filmography (new window).

Look at the trajectory of his films leading up to 1995/1996. (Some of the films with 1996 release dates were done with principal shooting in 1995) In late 1995, Kilmer was sitting in a hotel room on location watching CNN, when he learned that Whalley was divorcing him. The divorce was final by 2/1996.

Prior to the divorce he was Jim Morrison, Bruce Wayne/Batman, Doc Holiday, Chris (Heat), etc.
After the divorce was the Saint, then a huge string of straight-to-dvd stuff and a lot of underwhelming roles. There were occasional flashes of brilliance in there (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, etc.), but I contend that that biatch killed his confidence and sent him into a spiral from which he has yet to recover.

I cannot watch any movie with Val Kilmer anymore without trying to slap the smug off his face and nearly breaking the TV in the process.

I'm 49, exercise 11 hours a week, very careful about what I eat, and still 10 pounds overweight. Age is good for 5 pounds of weight gain per decade.

2012-02-13 12:28:08 PM
He actually looks like he's lost a ton of weight since the last 'Val Kilmer is fat' article appeared on Fark a year or two ago.

2012-02-13 12:29:51 PM
He's an arrogant jerk but in fairness the guy can act. He isn't normal late middle age/early old age overweight. I'm guessing too much beer and nachos.

He really could stand to lose some pounds for his own well being.

/you could see it starting to happen in Kiss-Kiss-Bang-Bang
//he's excellent in that film
///likes beer and nachos
////i sound fat

Better Pasta and Wine than Hookers and Coke! :-)

I agree 100% on the Vince Neil Look Alike.

He did an awesome job playing Morrison.

beta_plus: He's an arrogant jerk but in fairness the guy can act.

I've seen various claims that he's "difficult" to work with, etc, but from some interview clips I've seen of him he comes off pretty personable and at times almost painfully introspective.

He's been dancin' with Mr Coldstone....

Plot reads a bit like The Shawshank Redemption, but thanks for the recommendation.

RexTalionis: He actually looks better than he's been for years.

I was thinking the same thing. And to compare his looks now to a movie 21 years ago? Yeah, really grounded in reality there. I know, he is suppose to be a movie star, what ever the heck that is, and all that but he still looks good to me.

He has the most sensual lips...at least I think so.

yeah...he and Demi Moore should get some BOX OFFICE GOLD mojo goin...

he should play Stacey Keach in something...something to do with hairlips..yeah..and have a double cross by a 40 something year old woman who looks like she's 70 and bangs kids...

it could have some origami and some giant plot holes in it too..

That can't be right...

Hey look, an actor got older and looks different than when he was younger. Do we really need a new "Val Kilmer Got Fat" article every month?

Clearly, "dated" means "received spectacular beejs from" for Ms. Hilton.

Mystery solved!

I can't blame him. As a kid I had a huge....crush for her in Willow. I assume that's probably also where they met. farking Lucas, once again.

2012-02-13 01:37:33 PM
He could lose a few pounds, but i wouldn't call him 'over-weight'. The full body shot, he looks in better shape than most 50 year olds.

2012-02-13 01:48:37 PM
As far as acting goes, he was great in The Doors and Tombstone, but in every other role I've seen him in, he was exactly the same: slack-jawed, mouth breathing and expressionless. That's good acting?

2012-02-13 01:52:44 PM

Sybarite: He still kinda looks like Jim Morrison.

Val loses more weight the further down the page you scroll.

the man was once Nick Rivers, for that roll alone he can never do wrong in my books.

/Listen to me, Hillary. I'm not the first guy who fell in love with a woman that he met at a restaurant who turned out to be the daughter of a kidnapped scientist, only to lose her to her childhood lover who she last saw on a deserted island, who then turned out fifteen years later to be the leader of the French underground.

No wonder Axl agreed to do that duet with Gucci Mane.

Also, Val Kilmer has tagged an impressive lot of ladies in his time:

Hang on a second... THAT's fat?! I guess it's California fat, and his neck holds the bulk of it, but c'mon. He's 52!

He's in the same situation that Vince Vaughn is. Both were sex symbols, and everyone expects them to age like Sean Connery or Antonio Banderas. Sometimes they don't... sometimes they age like Marlon Brando.

Deal with it.

2012-02-13 02:55:39 PM
So, if Val Kilmer is going to play Axl, then who should play the other people in GnR?
