Hard to say if they'll alter their stance on this.

No word on which men's rooms they are staking out

A quick visit to grindr should reveal that info.

Maryland currently recognizes same sex marriages from other states, but does not allow them to be performed here. That seems to be the stupidest possible solution you could come up with. You don't get your moral smug "purity" superiority, and you don't get the wedding income either.

While I found the headline amusing, not all Republicans hang out in men's rooms. Only the suppressed, hypocritical ones.

You don't get the same sex marriage abortion dilemma so popular with the Republican folk these days either. They tried that with priests, back in the day, and have learned their lesson.

I imagine most of the backers would like to plow into it whole hog.

Will this all be wiped away by President Santorum?

No, the non-repressed (but still hypocritical) ones hang out naked in gym locker rooms and steam rooms all afternoon.

It's not the republicans they need to court... Those are always going to vote along party lines. It's the gun-shy freshman democrats and the black churches.

Replace "courting" with "bribing" for accuracy.

Ugh.

But while those few Democrats deserve a bunch of blame, so do the Republicans (no idea what the count was, but more than the 5 Dems from TFA who waffled/obstructed) who voted against.

// Baltimore City and PG County: The Wire and The Wire Jr
// but PG does have the highest % of black-owned businesses, and the growth of same is doing good things for both the county and state

Actually, they're having some success throwing money at Republicans to flip their vote.

Money Flows to Republican Backers of Gay Marriage
Link (new window)

While I understand it from a strategic standpoint, a part of me thinks:

"fark you. So, instead of giving your money to the people who've been fighting for your rights on principle, and paying a political price for it to boot, you're going to give it to their opponents and strengthen the very people who've been standing in your way? And who will no doubt move on to standing in the way of someone else's rights... because that's like their whole goddamned raison d'être."

It reminds of blacks who support gay marriage bans and who voted in large number for Prop 8.

"I'm all good now! They're not farking with me anymore. We're cool!"

They're probably hanging out at the rest stop on US13/301 just outside Centreville, Md. That's where Bobby Bauman, the conservative's conservative was outed back in the 80's, if memory serves correctly. They could also try the rest stop on I-95 in Burtonsville where they caught the DC Sniper.

Mostly-nonsense, but semi-interesting thought experiment....

Let's say gay-ness is definitively proven to be genetic. The predisposition to find the same sex as attractive and desirable is undeniably written into someone's essence, and is detectable, genetically, from relatively shortly after conception....

Do republicans choose to fight it as a "genetic disorder" and allow them to have the rights any other group is provided for that type of situation... or do they change their stance on abortion to avoid good christian women having to give birth to known homosexuals, thus increasing their prominence in society?

The DC Snipers were caught at the South Mountain rest stop on 270. I forget which side.

Genetic information is a protected class with relation to health insurance and employment thanks to the GINA.

Right. So... do they suck it up and treat them as a protected class, or wage war on the the unborn?

Interesting question. I'm not sure whether men fondling and farking other men's penises or women gratuitously murdering babies twists the fundies' panties more. I can't even make a guess.
