After a winter in Illinois I was blindingly white when finally exposed to the sun when I returned to the Southwest for the summer. My underarms were literally glowing. On a day when the UV Index was 13 I went out and held my lily white underarms to the sun for ten minutes. Nothing happened. I think I'm immune to the sun.

Women are dishonest in these polls in my opinion. Like when they say they want a sense of humor. They do, but they want it on an 8 with an above average income. They, and this is just my experience and talking with female friends, is a default baseline. Things they "want" are above and beyond the baseline.

So when men end up looking shallow it isn't that they are that much more into looks but rather they describe their baseline as the things they want: Boobs and vagina present.

Ymmv, no ill will intended here, and 80% of both sexes are settling anyways, so it isn't that important.

It took me several parses and a quick read of the article, but I don't believe the side-by-sides are supposed to be the same guy. I obviously thought they were, but they clearly don't have remotely similar facial structures; in the white guys, the one on the right has a much more stereotypical square face. Haven't those been proven to be 'more attractive' or something?
