One of our basic principles of Liberty is the assumption of innocence until guilt is proven.

Yeah, I know that only applies to the Government, but in the court of public opinion he has already been judged guilty and his life has been ruined by word of mouth only.

Remember how the Duke rape case blew up right infront of them?

Horsing around, teaching underprivileged kids how to shower correctly, cracking backs and blowing on tummies.

Try to have some perspective, people

That was an amazingly straightforward article from the Post. No puns, no opinion, no gilding the lily. I can only assume that they placed some awful headline on the front page with all of those elements.

He really should avoid phrases like "turned on".

You gotta love this guy's delusion. Ask him if he's a child molestor and he'll give you a warmhearted smile. Ask him if he's ever touched boys inappropriately and he'll talk about how he just loves children. He got away with it for so long that he has completely displaced the consequences of the actions.

Granted, having a former employer brush it under the rug for more than a decade added to this delusion, but still.

The Duke rape case was based on the accusations of a drunken stripper, not a three-year grand jury investigation with 8 victims and an eyewitness.

And frankly, the court of public opinion should be judging him guilty. When someone asks you on national TV if you're sexually attracted to young boys, your answer should be a little more convincing than a stammering explanation that you love being around children. There, "fark no" or something similar would be the only reasonable reply.

In conclusion, he's guilty.

To be fair, he is accused of raping kids.

Unless there is a slam dunk by the defense that proves that he was framed for years of abuse, the public is going to call him a kidf*cker. That's how it goes.

Ask OJ about that...

Yeah, a prostitute crying rape is the same thing as 10 victims who have come forth to testify as well as a coach who witnessed Sandusky RAPING A CHILD ... Same thing indeed! You must be from PA and a Penn State alum, which makes you two kinds of farking retarded.

No, Jerry, everyone turned on Paterno, who committed no crime but took the brunt of the bullshiate because he's the most public face of the University.

Now that Paterno's dead the focus will shift back to you.

I remember how evidence quickly came out, even as the case got national attention, that the accused had rock solid alibis, and that evidence was being ignored by an asshole DA who was trying to grab the black vote for the upcoming election.

Sandusky's case, on the other hand has no such exonerating evidence showing up. If anything, the evidence against him continues to pile up, and his own behavior in court (new window) is bizarre enough to question his innocence.

Right. This timeline (new window) indicates that Paterno reported what he knew 24-ish hours after hearing about it.

Anything else is speculation on your part, but hey, this is Fark, where geniuses like you can post BS and feel good about it.

I'm not going to quote the little troll wankstain, but in response to what other people have said about the Duke case...

Remember, Durham County DA Mike Nifong was appointed to the position by Mike Easley (possibly our most corrupt governor ever) to fill a vacancy. Nifong did everything in his power to trump up those charges and make it a big deal so he could survive a hotly-contested election.

In the Duke Lacrosse Case, an individual scumbag in a position of power committed heinous crimes to make someone look guilty in order to stay in power. In this case, an individual scumbag in a position of influence has been trying everything in his power to look innocent.

I still dont understand and never will why Penn State is getting a free ride on this. This happened because Penn State the instutution was deemed by everyone in that farking dumbass area to be more important then the raping of little boys. Every person in any sort of authority knew what was going on. It was snickered about and whispered about for 20 years. But the collective decision was made to sweep it under the rug for the good of the university and the money that comes with it.

Raze the entire friggin thing. Every building torn down every shrub burned. You want to make the same argument for the Catholic church for hiding child rape I will listen but stop letting these institutions get away with this.

I don't think that they're getting a free ride. The administrative personnel above Joe Paterno are currently under indictment and the NCAA is investigating the football program. Sometimes these investigations take time, but just because there haven't been findings handed down YET, doesn't mean that they're getting a free ride.

The rest of us: "Because we're able to put our jock-sniffing hero worship aside for a moment and realize many people at or near the top of the Penn State org chart were very likely complicit in sweeping some pretty horrific crimes under the carpet. And it's not that JoePa is the central figure. It's that he's the only one involved in this that you botards insist on white-knighting."

And to the person drawing parallels with the Duke Lax case: You're an idiot. Or an excellent troll, based on the number of bites.

Won't stop the abuse. There's a compulsion working at such a high level that the freak would finger rape or somehow otherwise consummate the act. Better to put them down quick and clean.

This is why you don't leave your unsupervised children with sports coaches, karate instructors and Boy Scout leaders. I'm not saying it's the parent's fault or the child's fault, but use a little discretion when leaving you kids with grown men who enjoy being around little children.
