Foolish Busybody Idiots

2012-02-11 09:06:46 AM
I've never seen anyone use a credit card for a simple purchase like that. Many places don't take cc for purchases smaller than 10.00 because processing fees blah and blah.

2012-02-11 09:09:06 AM
That's ridiculous...
Some coffee shops only accept cash.

2012-02-11 09:09:46 AM
It's almost like a parody of the FBI....dolts. If you are a local coffee shop and not a chain you prefer cash payments. Like when I lived in Philly there were restaurants that were cash only. There's a reason for that.

Anybody have a link concerning this from the actual FBI?

//didn't think so

why didnt the FBI include bars?
Clearly bars are fronts for terror organizations.
The only reason that people would use or accept cash is to hide the transaction from the government!!!

This, is the closest I could find, and it is talking about internet cafe's, not just Starbucks. Taking the whole list into context it's clear the "paying cash" thing doesn't man call the cops right away every time someone pays cash.

It also has a nice big "It is important to remember that just because someone's speech, actions, beliefs, appearance, or way of life is different; it does not mean that he or she is suspicious." disclaimer at the bottom.

Ah, cop-hating site writes article based on Michael Moore's principles of "journalism"

Now I see.

My first thought was that this was some sort of parody site, but I'm saddened to see that the author is serious.

I pay cash for lots of things simply because I don't want the store tracking my purchases and compiling a database. Same reason I have the permanent "opt out" cookie installed for Google, etc. You can keep your "customer loyalty" discount cards as well. You could put me on the list, but you don't have my ID info. Bwahahahaha.

Wow. What an education! Follow the link to Beauty Shops, Home Improvement, Motels, Dive Shops, Electronics shops, etc. Each paranoia deserves it's own DSM code.

You can justify an entire trillion dolllar fear-based-economy based on this. I'm so glad taxes are not an issue since that's about all that gets spent.

Look people this is just one of millions of steps to bring us into the..for lack of better words ""New World Order."" In Colorado yesterday they denied a woman from getting on a plane because they did not have a female TSA available even after she said she was fine with a male searching her. They told her tough luck make other arrangements for another day to fly out.

Just spend this week really listening and reading you will see a pattern.

Cash money will be fazed out in the next 10 to 20 years they just need to set up the premise why.

LesserEvil: My first thought was that this was some sort of parody site, but I'm saddened to see that the author is serious.

That was my first thought as well. I don't know if I'm more disturbed by the author's latent paranoia and their desire to feed other paranoids or the simple fact that we really do not have real, protected privacy anymore unless we work hard for it - then we're potentially "suspicious". I'm not a paranoid either, I just don't like other people in my business, even if that business is how much Starschmuck's I drink per week. MYOB (unless there is a demonstrable threat) should be a law.

Pick: Ok, I'll bite. What IS ok to buy with cash?

Hookers and blow. I thought everyone knew that.

Piece of advice for farkers, try paying cash to any contractors you might hire.

Example: Joe Plumber comes to your house, fixes your leak, charges you $330. You respond, "Well, I got $300 cash or I could write you a check for $330." ALOT of contractors, especially the small guys, will take the cash and you'll save 10% or whatever.

Cash > check > credit card

Creoena: People still use cash?

seems like they will now.

When you go outside your dorm, a lot of purchases use cash, like at a street market, etc. It is still legal tender.

Cash > check > credit card

This is one reason why the Gov. would like to faze out cash.

OK, that's horrific, if true, but it still seems too stupid for the for-real FBI, and it isn't a link to the FBI. It's still a link to some random Internet organization I, at least, have never heard of. The FBI shield reproduced on it isn't all that convincing.

One of the coffee shops I go to wont take anything but cash. Does that mean that they must be terrorist?

2012-02-11 11:08:36 AM
Maybe people use credit cards so someone or something will know what they did, in a poor pathetic hope that someone will care about them ... or a computer rule will trigger just for them and categorize their spending at the end of the year like they care.

Cash is EVIL.

Using cash not only makes it difficult to track your every move, but every dollar that is circulating in CASH is a dollar that isn't counted as a "reserve" in the banking system.

What does that mean? It means that if you have $100.00 cash in your wallet, that is $1,000.00 that the banks can't "loan out" to their marks customers under the Fractional Reserve Banking System. By carrying that $100.00, you are depriving the poor bankers of the interest they could be collecting on $900.00.

And THAT is not only unAmerican, it is outright terrorism.

/Carrying cash is evil
//Keep it in the bank

I suspect VISA or Mastercard is behind this.

2012-02-11 11:12:17 AM
Good do you want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud? If you don't do anything wrong you should not have to worry about. Only Terrorists and those who appease them have to worry about the FBI.
oh wait, the president is what?
This is an outrage, why should we have to put up shiat like this! The Constitution *clearly* prohibits things like this!

This stuff is true.

I work for a college and we get this stuff all the time from DHS...esp "if they are paying in cash".

Although we at our college think a lot of this is nuts...there are a lot of wannabe Cops and Federal Agents who will carry out these extremes.

The real Waarrggarbal here is not people warning about "paying cash for coffee"...the real warrgarrbll are the ones who think all this is a hoax. People need to stop watching so much Jersey Shore and pay a little more attention to the news

2012-02-11 11:27:08 AM
Everybody knows that, rather than have a 9/11, we must all be watched, surveilled, suspected, investigated, questioned, documented, detained, and eventually arrested, aggressively interrogated, tortured, sexually abused, locked into a dog cage for years with no access to a lawyer, and then released to stumble like a zombie to the traitor coffee bar where we can finally understand that we have always been at war with eastasia and learn the secret behind the inscrutable face of Big Brother, our final step on the path to receiving a bullet in the back of the head.

It's the only way to keep America safe.

And I said SOY MILK, you blithering cow, SOY MILK.

I pay cash for my coffee. Not only that, I paid cash for both my open water and advanced open water SCUBA certifications, along with all of the dive equipment I own. I also paid cash at the Chinese restaurant yesterday. I also routinely criticize the government. I am hardly a terrorist though.

Copblock looks like a totally legit news source with no axe to grind or agenda at all. I look forward to NaturalNews' subsequent quality reportage. Has anyone nominated Ethan A. Huff for a Pulitzer for this groundbreaking work?

I fully expect the following quality counterpoint to appear on the Coplover blog next week:

You're either with the coffee, or you're against the coffee. Terrorists hate our coffee. Therefore, pinky-wiggling tea drinking pansies are terrorists.

Also subby, what's with linking to that weird networkedblogs frame instead of directly to the host site? Tracking pageviews much?

AbbeySomeone: I've never seen anyone use a credit card for a simple purchase like that. Many places don't take cc for purchases smaller than 10.00 because processing fees blah and blah.

Maybe looking up when in Starbucks instead of just posting dumbass shiat on your Facebook page that you've accessed via your iPhone would be a good idea. People use plastic all the time to do stuff like this.

Of course, since I carry the burden of being a white male, in a professional job, and with a decent haircut and no undue piercings or tats, I'm pretty safe here.
