That's a '98 or '99 Monte Carlo z-34. I own a '97.

I can understand liking the interior. Everything's well thought out, simple to use, and you can work the radio, heater, lights, etc... without even thinking about it. Driving that car feels like wearing a tailored suit. Plus, it's certainly not the ugliest thing GM ever cranked out.

Now for the dysfunctional side of the relationship. The suspension at all four corners is made out of thin stamped steel, with bushings the consistency of bubble gum and spings mismatched to the sway bars. Going into a corner feels like nose diving into a mud puddle. Uses the typical fail-o-matic (tm) GM hub bearing assemblies, guaranteed to start rattling at 50K. Doing an alternator change involves nearly pulling the entire engine. The gearbox is nothing more than a flimsily made ticking time bomb.

The only reason mine has lasted as long as it has is that I really dont drive it (or any car) that much. If this guy loves his car, oh well, there have been stranger things to hump. But seriously dude, theres no nice way to say this. You're in a relationship with an ugly chick who thinks she's high maintanence supermodel hot.
