13 years? Really? Wow, I've to this day only made it through 40 minutes of that movie and have not seen any of the two that followed. Before you remove me from TF, I did see the first three in the theater.... each year, as they came out.

I've never watched the whole thing, and I was the projectionist at the time.
I've also never made it through more than 5 minutes of anything that had the words "Harry Potter" in the title either.

born_yesterday: I wonder who midichlorians were most meant as a "fark you" to. Was it the other creative minds involved in Empire? The fans that like most the movie that Lucas had the least to do with?

I don't really have a problem with the midichlorians as that complaint seems to be minute compared to much bigger problems (i.e. dialogue, JarJar, etc.), but it is typical of a really annoying problem with the Prequels: every minor character/instance from the original trilogy is called back into the Prequels, no matter how minute the character/instance. Did it really add anything by making C3PO and R2D2 (was it both? I don't really recall/care.) creations of Anakin; was it pertinent to the plot? The prequels simply don't stand on their own as they require constant referencing to the original series. It feels like a sequel was what was intended, but someone got scared over the idea that the fans wouldn't buy a whole cast of characters that would be required for such an idea.
