Saw them tweet this last night - it's actually an organic push but they liked it and sent it on. I'm all for abusing online petitions and we haven't done one in like 36 hours so I figure it's worth a shot
Thanks folks!

I like Weird Al's body of original work too much to see him throw his dignity away by performing for the Superbowl. I'm sorry, I can't support this.

I would watch the ever-loving hell out of that. Weird Al is the greatest musical performer out there. His live shows are downright incredible.

A Weird Al halftime show that would almost inevitably end up being a parody of the other overblown halftime shows we've had over the years?
Oh god, yes.

Hell yes. You know why? Becvause it would be fun to watch - something that's been sadly lacking the last many years. And why does it always have to be music? How about some goddam acrobats or a magician or some shiat like that. Fact is giant football stadiums suck for live music, always have, always will. Mix it up you idiots.

Been to two Weird Al concerts. Both awesome even though I had to go to Ohio for one of them. This is an excellent idea.
While we're on the topic of Al getting some much-deserved love,
why the heck doesn't he have a star on the Walk of Fame?

Madonna was unwatchable. I'm so sick of talentless grannies on the field.
Cee lo upstaged her before a word came out of his mouth.
Luckily, I was watching it at my friends pad.
And they were having a swinger/s&m meet at the time.
ropes and spankins and wonderful acts all through the rooms.
There was even a violet wand dildo!
Those drowned out the gap-toothed hag.
And my guacamole was damned good

I've been saying this for years. Even a high school or college marching band / cheerleading squad that won some competition sponsored by the NFL would be better. Hell, do the first 5 picks of the draft. Do anything.
That said, Madonna was a big draw for the 30/40-something women I know.

(slow, romantic intro)
♫ When I told you that I loved you, when I promised I'd be true ♫
♫ When I swore that i would never...be with anyone but youuu ♫
♫ When I told you that I loved you, those simple words I spoke... ♫
♫ I WAS ONLY KIDDING, now can't you take a joke? ♫
---
♫ oh oh, oh oh oh / oh, Oreo ♫
♫ what's in the middle? THE WHITE STUFF ♫
♫ first time that i tried them, got a big sugar buzz ♫
♫ nothing gets me high as that sandwich cookie does ♫
♫ you can see 'em in my teeth, tell it when i talk ♫
♫ had so many my pancreas just went into shock -- i love the white stuff, baby ♫
♫ in the middle of an Oreo ♫
♫ I love the white stuff, baby ♫
♫ It's the most delicious thing I know ♫
---
♫ met the prettiest young stewardess on my nonstop flight ♫
♫ she showed me to my seat and it was love at first sight ♫
♫ now lately i've been flyin' to all kinds o' places that I never really wanted to go ♫
♫ but I'll do anything just to spend a little time with the cutest flight attendant I know, oh oh oh ♫
♫ You set my ever-lovin' heart on fire, Airline Amy ♫
♫ tell me i'm your favorite frequent flier, Airline Amy ♫
♫ found a little piece of heaven, on a seven forty seven ♫
♫ an' no one else can take me higher than Airline Amy! ♫

The best thing about this idea: W. Al would care enough about it to make an entirely original show up just for the occasion, and it would be awesome. He could lampoon the hell out of the NFL and everybody would love it all the more. Heck, he could simply parody half-time acts of years gone by and it would be awesome. (Imagine his take on a "wardrobe malfunction"!)
And not a single member of his entourage would give anybody the finger.
