Heads up: The opening statement from the prosecution is quoted, and it's fairly graphic.

See now I closed the window because the writing was so small I didn't want to waste my time, but now I'm gonna have to go back and read it.

J. Tobias Beard is a girl?

As a fellow C'villian I just need to know one thing: how is parking down there? I have to head down town this afternoon and I'll be right by the courthouse.

"An accident with a tragic outcome" involves icy roads, poor visibility, and a novice driver.

There's no such thing as accidentally beating a woman so much that she dies.

According to my cousin who lives in C-ville, it is to be avoided if possible. Solid block and a half of newstrucks.

This, I would avoid The Mall area at all costs.

We should have a Cville FARK Party. Perhaps we should invite drew the next time we play Duke at home.

You probably already hang out with my cousin, you just don't know it.

I struggle to put into words how much I hate this murderous drunken preppy piece of shiat. Many moons ago I was an athlete at UVA. We got drunk. A lot. We hooked up with people on the women's team. A lot. There was typical college drama. But nobody EVER laid a finger on anyone. One guy got close once -- got drunk and behaved really improper to one of the ladies he'd had an on again, off again thing with. So we threw him out a window (open and on the first floor, but still head first and with force) and told him to sleep it off in the yard that night thinking about what a farkhead he'd been. And we watched him after that, and kept them apart. And nobody died.

These over-testosteroned trust fund lax guys, though, they seemed to think knocking a woman around was normal. So many people have this girl's blood on their hands. Fark them all.

/pissed off.
//end rant.
///guy should have gone to Duke, he'd have fight right in.

As much as the name 'J. Tobias Beard' sounds like a joke, his blog of the trial so far is some of the best journalism I've read in a long, long time.

Unfortunately not one of the good or high profile ones. I was more towards the scholar end of the Jeffersonian ideal of an athlete-scholar.

I second the motion for a C'ville fark party.

You'll have to pick the location, as I know little about the bar scene here.

Hey, still, college athlete. Most athletic thing I ever did during my tenure was run from south end of JPA to Scott Stadium with a case of Miller Lite in under five minutes. And I love to take my daughter to the women's LAX, soccer, field hockey games; she has a blast, cheap entertainment, I'd love her to do something like that someday if she wants to.

Not one of the good or high profile ones? Sheesh, we're good at most of the non-high profile ones.

reading these proceedings makes me sick to my stomach. As a recent graduate of Mr. Jefferson's University (class of 2010, same as Yeardly and this farking coward) i find myself inexplicably drawn to all the media coverage surrounding this. I usually avoid this sort of thing like the plague. I wish nothing but the most vile punishments on Huguely. many times, these overprivledged trust fund walking hormonal imbalances walk away scott free. Hopefully this one turns out differently.

/cville fark party for the upcoming unc home game!
//ps all you cville locals, just stumbled across "the Parking Lot Movie". Documentary on the Corner Parking Lot. you know, that lot you walked through on the way to bars after crossing the tracks every night. sounds boring but its actually a nice little watch.

Yeah I second the Parking Lot Movie - even made my out of town parents watch it - a ton more fun than you'd expect from a movie about a parking lot. Plus it now makes the Corner Parking Lot part of where I take my parents when they drop by.

Fark party: might be able to make it to something if it is early enough in the day on a week night
