FTFA: "...Mr Gorbachev remains one of the most disliked figures inside Russia, seen as ushering in the chaos and poverty that followed the Soviet Union's collapse."

While I admittedly don't know much about Russia or the former Soviet Union, I found this surprising. I'd have thought he'd have gotten some credit for the whole "ending decades of oppressive communist rule" thing.

Remember the young 'uns got the redacted version of communism, and the old timers have Stockholm Syndrome and at least remember when the Soviets were respected and feared.

Of course the Russians are incapable of making a judgement about the recent history of their own country. They need American farkers to teach them about how St. Reagan came and gave them freedom.

There are people who are willing to give up their freedom if the government promises to take care of them. Apparently the majority of Russians fall into this category. We will see in November whether the majority of Americans do so as well.

Whatever. "St. Reagan" didn't kill thirty million of his own people.
