In a broad sense, the settlement might ameliorate the housing crisis enough to bolster our economy a bit. It's certainly not going to send us into boom times.

So they want a return of the boom times? It isn't enough to stabilize and help bolster- they want the money shot, too?

Robo-signing or not - are you paying your mortgage? If the answer is no, tough shiat. Anyone who thinks banks are trying to "steal" assets that have substantially declined in value are delusional

So $25b to reduce interest rates/reduce principal for those 1% who actually have mortgages that aren't FHA insured?
