I'd say Grant Morrison's doing a decent job of making supes interesting. I just wish there was more threatening to throw corrupt senators off of buildings and less cosmic space stuff.

And don't forget Superman: The Animated Series (pop-link goes to Nostalgia Critic review).

The man of steel is still the best origin.

I find superman incredibly boring, but amongst all that, I find Red Son and Kingdom Come to be the best Superman stories out there.

Red Son was a great alternative origin story! I really did not see the ending coming, and was thoroughly impressed with the twist.

Red Son is nothing short of fantastic. Wouldn't change a thing.

Kingdom Come, however, is a POS watered-down version of what Alan Moore wanted to do (new window).

I don't read a lot of comic books, but Kingdom Come was amazing. By far the best I've read.

Me too. Also wanted to say that 'Secret Identity' is the best Supes story ever published.

Just for the record, Superman's appearances in Starman and Hitman were his finest.

...is one of those phrases you always hear from douchebags who don't read comics but still deign to weigh in on who could kick whose ass.

You all know that Superman is an illegal, right?

He wasn't born in America.

That was what the Many of steel origin by Bryne was for. Kal-El was sent to earth in an artificial womb with a rocket engine and was thus borne in the US when the Kent's decanted him from his capsule.
