Lauer has been there 15 years, equal to Bryant Gumbel's stint. With NBC in the shape it's in they should try not to lose anybody who's a longtime asset. Of course no one deserves to get paid $30 million a year for being on TV. Kiefer Sutherland got $40 million for three years playing an action hero on 24. On the other hand, where is that $450 million going at NBC and is anyone getting a bigger piece than Lauer who deserves it less?
