The U2 and the No Doubt are the only things on that list I'd even consider listening to.

2012-02-10 10:24:14 AM
No scat man?

2012-02-10 10:24:16 AM
With the exception of Darius Rucker (for shame, Mr. President. There is never a good time to play Darius Rucker), that's a pretty solid selection of tuneage

2012-02-10 10:24:21 AM

I'm shocked by the lack of NWA, Propagandhi, Phish, world music and Dick Manitoba and the Dictators

Ya know, cuz he's an angry black, radical socialist, do nothing, Kenyan.. umm... dictator.

2012-02-10 10:27:48 AM
I was expecting to see some GG Allin or Slayer.

2012-02-10 10:27:55 AM
Darius Rucker????

Ricky Martin?????

That's it, I'm voting for Romney. At least he'd listen to...um...creepy choral music?

Missing some important ones:

Let Me Clear My Throat - DJ Kool
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down - The Band
Let's Go - The Ramones
People are People - Depeche Mode

And the most essential album of all: Fear Of A Black Planet (Public Enemy).

2012-02-10 10:30:49 AM
No AWB?

This is his campaign playlist, not his private one :-p. On a side note, have the republicans candidates even figured out how to use the internet?

Mr Blue Sky makes me happy. It is my happy song and thus this list makes me happy.

Nah. Although he did miss an opportunity for an epic troll Not a rickroll (which should be obvious since it's not 2007)

Hmm, I could have sworn he had Ee Mungu Nguvu Yetu (new window) on there.

Considering how many times he name drops Lil Wayne - I'm surprised that wasn't on there. Oh wait, this is a political stunt! Makes sense now!

Other than that, pretty solid.

Sugarland? Really?

Also, U2 is Irish, Subby.

Though you may not drive a great big Cadillac
Gangsta whitewalls
TV antennas in the back
You may not have a car at all
But remember brothers and sisters
You can still stand tall

Just be thankful for what you've got
Though you may not drive a great big Cadillac
Diamond in the back, sunroof top
Diggin' the scene
With a gangsta lean
Gangsta whitewalls
TV antennas in the back

I heard that after Newt got the cease-and-desist on Survivor's 'Eye of the Tiger', he switched to using Martina McBrides 'Independence Day'. I guess he's never seen the video, or listened to anything other than the chorus.

2012-02-10 10:38:27 AM
Anyone else find this a little hard to believe?

Really? He slaps his Beats (R) by Dre on his head while he's chillin' out on Air Force One and sings along to Dierks Bentley? And then, right after that, he's listening to Al Green?

Color me skeptical. Sounds like a PR move to make him the "Just Like Me" (tm) presidential candidate.

Is this the thread where I act like I'm cool and superior for hating on u2?

Christ I hate that song. Every morning taking my daughter to swimming, she manages to find the one radio station playing that farking song. I fear it will be one of the things I relive as my life flashes before my eyes just before I die.

/might like it if it was actually entitled, "Mr. Sexopede," which is what I thought it said the first time I heard it

Hell, we don't even know what he listens to as non-cultist, i.e., non-Mormons are not allowed in their temples.

Not sure WWJD but I'm pretty sure locking non-believers out of your house of worship is not what Jebus would do.

WWJSD?

I bet Romney's iPod contains only the AOL connecting sound for 8 hours.

2012-02-10 10:40:03 AM
20 bucks says Obama picked less than 5 of those if any and an intern spent a week researching to get the proper "We're all in this together, roll up your sleeves, bring me back again, we're different but we can still relate, inspirational" mix and ensuring that there was not one possible controversial line for Fox News to nitpick. Hooray America.

How about this version of "Honey, Don't You Want a Man Like Me?" complete with the Petulant Republican Frenzy? Link (new window)

Meh. Waylon and Willie follow the Butthole Surfers on my workout playlist, so I'm not skeptable at all.

Oh my, I hadn't even thought about that. You just know that there's some republican toady RIGHT NOW quickly assembling/looking for something like this to prove that they are just as in-tune with internet hip crowd, and it will wind up being something like "here's a geocities where you can download all of the quicktimes that Newt listens to" or something just as ridiculous.

And then they'll blame the librul media when the internet laughs at them.

I liked that first Darius Rucker album -- Learn to Live. It was nostalgia (the voice brought me back to 7th/8th grade), and it was so utterly earnest. He was just singin his heart out, singing stupid simple songs about his life, and thrilled as hell that people were willing to listen. If more artists took his spirit with their music, I don't think we'd go far wrong.

And no, I'm not a country music fan in general. Cept for Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson -- the old school crew.

I like U2. I'm not ashamed. Some of their stuff is damn good (and some of it isn't, but that can be said of 99.99999999999% of all bands ever).

Damn. I was hoping this would clear up his controversial positions on big butts, pina coladas, and whether we'll always get what we want.

The inclusion of Al Green and Booker T and the MG's cancels him out.
