That shouldn't be a problem for Snyder; when evaluating QBs, he's never put much stock in the ability to throw.

So the Colts (or whoever he signs with) will have to run the 'Tebow Offense'...

Interesting - Bill Polian said the exact opposite of this on PTI yesterday, that Manning was making pretty much all the throws he used to, other than really long ones.

This will make him a perfect candidate to play for the Vikings next year.

Depends who you talk to...Polian said he was throwing well in December, and personally I'd believe him before a guy citing "sources".

unless, of course, Polian is trying to stir the pot intentionally because he got canned...

Polian stirring the pot would be him saying Manning was done, no?

Indy Star Link (new window)

On a podcast on the website Grantland.com, Bill Simmons talked with the NFL Network's Mike Lombardi, who reported Manning isn't close to his old form after three neck surgeries.

"He can't throw the ball," Lombardi said. "I've talked to people who've caught the ball for him. He can't throw to his left. . . . People that catch the ball for him say he doesn't really have velocity on the ball yet."

I suspect the fact that he's 35 isn't helping any, either.

He has millions of dollars, broken numerous records and even has a Super Bowl ring. I hope he retires before he ends up in a wheelchair

I"d suspect the opposite...by stating Manning is healthy, it puts the Colts in a tough position. They're gonna draft luck, but a healthy Manning is due to receive a bonus come early March...puts the GM and owner in a bind. By saying he's healthy, you're saying "we're gonna ditch a healthy Peyton Manning...teh guy that basically saved the franchise, won us a SB title, and got us this fancy new stadium..for an unproven rookie".

If Polian, a trusted friend of Manning, said he wasn't healthy, IMHO he'd be doing the Colts a favor. Gives them justification to call it a 'business decision".

Polian was fired because he was told to cut Manning and he wouldn't

Stop saying that, farkers. It's not like his neck is completely exposed, and a fender bender at 20 mph will forever paralyze him.

If that was true, why hasn't Manning already been cut?

They are trying to get some value for him via a trade before letting him go free

ihatedumbpeople: puts the GM and owner in a bind.

The GM and owner are only truly in a bind if he's actually healthy. Polian's comments don't affect that.

No one (sane) would ever make that trade. Everyone knows that they will part ways soon, and then make a deal directly with Manning.

I love the Internet. People who have no actual idea come off with such bold statements.

Unless your name is Polian or Irsay .... you're really just guessing.

Depends...public perception matters. If Polian says he's healthy, even if reports vary, a LOT of Colts fans are going to assume he's on track to come back.

Yeah chris mortenson said the same thing on the radio today as well, someone is feeding misinformation to try and get a deal.

Peyton's already got a secret deal with Arizona. He'll be the backup QB behind Favre.
