Isn't Nash having a career year so far this season?

Nash has played great this season. I'm generally a fan of Barkley, but he's wrong on this.

Stern has been under a lot of pressure to write a script for the shortened season. He didn't have time for a re-write of the all-star game.

At least someone's finally recognizing that Luol Deng is a beast.
A beast that can't quite dribble, but a beast.

hey, I recognized it in 2004 when he and Duhon dragged Duke to the final four and would have won that game (thanks to some great fouls against UCONN) had JJ Redick or Shelden Williams shown up.
/had he stayed, and Shaun Livingston came to Duke, oh what might have been...

He is averaging 15ppg, leads the league in assists, is third in shooting percentage (first among guards), and shoots nearly 90% from the FT line. He is among the leaders in TOs, though. That notwithstanding, Nash is having a very solid season and Charles should just plug the mug.

1. He leads the West point guards in assists per game and is extremely efficient in that (look at the gap to second place for Assists per 48 minutes).
2. He leads the West point guards in many shooting categories (1st FG%, 1st FT%, 1st Adj%, 2nd in 3P%, 5th in PPG)
3. He makes Marcin Gortat look like a star.
Other than Paul and Westbrook he is clearly the best of the West PGs... I don't really understand why it's controversial?
/Plus Parker made it as well

How many of those turnovers come from passing to those incompetent dopes on his team who were at the wrong place to catch his passes?

Westbrook has a lot of growing up to do. He did not look good down the stretch last night (step out of bounds, stupid foul, dribbled it off his leg).

I like Barkley, but in this case he's wrong.
Top 4 West guards in Player Efficiency: Paul, Nash, Curry, Westbrook
Top 4 West guards in Value Added: Westbrook, Parker, Nash, Paul
West guards selected: Westbrook, Parker, Nash and Paul.
Sounds right to me - Curry gets penalized for playing fewer games due to injury (which is why Value Added has him at 7th).

I still think they robbed Nash of a third MVP because they didn't want a skinny white Canadian to be up there with Jordan, Chamberlain and Magic.

Even if he wasn't, why would it be bad to put him in?
Are we really going to base All-Stars on a month's worth of games? That's even stupider than lifetime achievement All-Star nods.
I never understand why people are so hell-bent to make All-Star games into "who had the best first half of a season" awards.

Besides, it's nice to let Steve Nash play with talented teammates if only for a few minutes of the year. Maybe it will inspire him to not come back until he's traded to a team that deserves to have him.

Somehow, Sheldon Williams consistently got away with picking up the opposing team's center, carrying him out of the paint, and setting him down.
