I'm running a Grammy pool at work, and I'm telling you now: bet the farm on her. Every category she's nominated in, pick her. Regardless of what you think of her music, she's the only sure thing the record industry has going right now, and they know it.

I'm torn. From a objective and intellectual standpoint, I can tell she's a very talented singer. However, every song she sings annoys the farking shiat out of me to a level equaled only by Ani DiFranco.

Meh. I don't particularly care for her music, but I give her all the credit in the world for succeeding in the popular music arena based on nothing but her singing talents after being told that such a feat would be impossible without significant weight loss.

I sat through her "Live at Royal Albert Hall" DVD and didn't loathe every second of it. Chicks got some pipes on her. Though it'll be interesting to see what she can do outside of the whole "crazy jilted fat girl" thing.

I dig the whole album of "21." Been a long time for me that I could stand to listen to a full album by a female vocalist like that.

But yeah, what's gonna happen when she gets over the break up and starts being happy? How will her recent vocal chord surgery affect her career? Time will tell. Great album but her future is definitely uncertain.

you are not alone. She has talent to sing, but something about her songs or the ways she sings gives me a headache. I can't listen to two in a row. Dave Mathews Band does the same thing to me as well.

my friend got called up by his ex a few weeks ago, she was wondering how he was doing and stuff. My wife figures she was listening to "Someone Like You" and got nostalgic.

i kind of like her songs if i hear them occasionally on the radio, but i just can't see myself buying an album of hers. If i buy an album, i want to be pretty sure i'll still want to put it on in the car for a long drive 10 years hence (thats sort of my mental criteria.) Just don't get that feeling with her music

It's good to see a TRUE ARTIST win a Grammy! When an artist has received an award from recording industry executives, that's when you know that artist is great.

When I think back on all the stars that have won Best New Artist Grammies like Starland Vocal Band, Christopher Cross, Men at Work, Jody Watley, Milli Vanilli, Hootie & the Blowfish, and Maroon 5, I am blown away by how these stars have strongly affected the world of music with their keen artistic vision.

That's why I only listen to bands that win Grammies. People who don't know anything about TRUE ART are always like "you should listen to Led Zeppelin or Queen or Bob Marley" but those people have never won grammies. They cannot be artists. How could you call yourself an artist if you've never been approved by the executive board at Universal Music Corporation? You cannot. Case closed.

Who? I've never even heard of those bands. I only listen to GRAMMY winners. I'm listening to Album of the Year Winner Toto IV by Toto right now. I'd like to see one of those clowns you mentioned match the level of artistry in "Rosanna" or "Africa". TRUE ART.

After you do, she'll either:

1- Play all the Adele break-up songs MORE

or

2- Say, "Mission Accomplished!", and start rocking out to Zepplin.

You'll have to wait to see.

While I understand the appeal of Adele, it's not for me.

Toss me in the her music annoys the fark out of me group. What the hell does set fire to the rain even mean? I mean that as a legitimate question, somebody who likes Adele please explain that to me.

Somebody should open a bar called The Break-Up that plays nothing but Adele songs for people to cry into their beers to. You would probably make a killing.

I kind of wish that the record label would have done a C&C Music Factory switcharoo with Adele so that we could have a conversation about her music without the endless "she's fat" and "she's hot" nonsense.

Her music is corporate watered-down white soul that is about as painful to listen to as the death-rattle of my first born child.

She's not that fat, and she's certainly not hot. Yes, there are plenty of hot fat people. She's not one of them.

I think her music is solid and I find her attractive.

If it weren't for my wife I would volunteer to be the person to jilt her before she creates her next album... however, the married guy angle might work especially if I never tell her until I break up with her.

No, Gillian's the anti-Taylor Swift, which makes her about a billion times better in my book. I can kind of go for Adele being the anti-Gaga, including the fact that I'm betting that while it will be empty and devoid of musical achievement, Gaga will have a very long, productive career devoid of ruining it with her vocal nodes from smoking like a retarded chimney and knowing that "Someone Like You" should be about a whole step lower so she doesn't do that idiotic voice crack thing in the choruses every single time.

\yes, I have fundamental musical issues with Adele
\\at least you're not supposed to take Gaga seriously
