wildsnowllama: They should just make a show starring House, Wilson, and Dr. Cox and chuck the rest of the shiatty support character

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a hit!

I haven't given a damn about the show since the crappy way they got rid of Cameron a few years ago.

2012-02-08 09:29:19 PM

wildsnowllama: Benefit of the doubt for you AND RoxtarRyan.

Oh, I don't know about the original comment, or care. I'd love watching a House-Dr. Cox show.

OhioKnight: CIA faked her death and relocated her to DC (her sister's an agent).

I was really hoping she'd have a bigger role in Covert Affairs.

House has been used the same formula since the start. The formula is great, but the recent season long story arcs have begun to heavily follow a singular arc regarding the self-destructive nature of House. Using the formula for episodes has proven effective, but, for the seasons, I consider House more something to watch than something to look forward to.

The show would have been better if she had disappeared completely after season 3.

FeedTheCollapse: SpookyEyes: FeedTheCollapse: eh, it's about time anyway. I still enjoy House himself, but the 2 new women aren't that great.

This. The new characters suck. It's time.

I don't mind Charlyne Yi as much, I just think she's out of place. The other chick is just "oh shiat, Olivia Wilde's not coming back", but with worse acting.

Park is irritating, but at least she has some personality. I don't even know the other characters name, she brings nothing to the show. She's just...there.

2012-02-08 09:36:36 PM
Nah, the show will end after a cameo from Cuddy, House's ex wife, or Cameron come back for some over-hyped melodramatic story that fractures the characters. Maybe House's mom dies or something.

Some characters leave, but House, Wilson, and Foreman stay behind, and we get the impression that they'll go on to have more wacky adventures together, but none too different than the ones we've seen for 8 years.

Fade out on the Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want" as a pilot callback.

nameofperson: Also, if Stephen Fry doesn't do a cameo before the end or Laurie doesn't put out another blues record after this imma cut a biatch.

Always thought it would work to bring Fry in as one of the oddballs House meets doing clinic hours, in this case someone particularly antagonistic and argumentative.

2012-02-08 09:45:03 PM
Hugh Laurie is capable of so much more than House.

He needs to team up with Robert Webb and David Mitchell, bring back Fry, and do

That Mitchell, Webb, Laurie, and Fry Orgy

I held on until about three episodes into this season. From what I saw of this season, it stopped being funny, House had devolved from cynic to prick. The other characters, well, I just didn't care.

I suppose it's time.

Maybe they'll turn it into a video game?

Guntram Shatterhand: Eight years in is not bad. And it seems it isn't going out on that bad of a note.

Such is life. I doubt Laurie is retiring, however. He'll probably just do some more stuff on the side that is the exact opposite of House, however.

I really miss his silly asses. That man plays a silly ass better than anyone living. Yes, including any Python.

2012-02-08 10:00:12 PM
But, they're keeping that Spielberg schlock Terra Nova on the air?!?

That thing's a freakin' embarrassment, and it should be cause enough to finally tell Spielberg to just stay the hell away from the small screen. Everything he touches there just turns to complete and total shiat.

Laurie actually peaked as Prince Regent.

wildsnowllama: Suicide.
My prediction for House's end.

Now that would really bum me out, and I know he's an imaginary character.

But Hugh Laurie was ready to leave, and it's time.

Surool: TV Series have to end sometime. House has been on 8 years, it's time to end it.

From the channel that's been slinging us the Simpsons and Cops for 25 years, 8 seasons is nothing

If you have a DSi, you can get about four games based on the show from the DSi Shop. Never DL'd them, but I hear mixed reviews.

2012-02-08 10:13:52 PM
House jumped the shark last season. Well, not jumped actually. More like clambered over with some help from Wilson.

2012-02-08 10:22:38 PM
It's hard for any show to renew talent contracts more than once. If you read about a star signing up for a couple more years of a show that's been on 4-6 years, you can bet it's over at the end of that deal, unless the show rotates out the entire regular cast or spins off a clone (Law & Order: Des Moines!)

2012-02-08 10:28:26 PM
I'm strangely OK with this.
Enjoyed the show, but, I lost interest last year.

Don't want to see House die. Maybe he should end it by becoming a disease researcher in the rainforest or something. (wartime medic or something)

2012-02-08 10:33:33 PM
He falls in love with a young girl and goes to Hawaii to have a family...

Series Finale: Stephen Fry is a patient who gets a knock on the head, thinks he's a British military officer in World War I.

House gets a knock on the head soon after, and thinks that he is in World War I as well, suddenly starts talking with a British accent!

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

FirstNationalBastard: and for House to commit suicide.

It's the only way they can end the show in my opinion. Either have him overdose on Vicodin or commit suicide after being cut off from them.

Sherlock Holmes in a Hospital had to end at some point.

2012-02-08 10:51:30 PM
I still like the show, but the formula's been tired for years with the exception of a few stand-out episodes.

How many times can House get away with his behaviour because he's so good at his job?

Gimme some House-Wilson prank contests and some funny clinic scenes... because that's about all that's left that isn't so formula it's boring. No matter how good the premise and actors, there's only so many ways to repackage the same plot and keep it fresh.

Last two episodes I watched. Need to pick up the last few seasons via netflix/dvd and see how it went from there.

Can't say I care either way. I've never seen a single episode of this show.

2012-02-08 11:15:16 PM
House needs to die of a ketamine overdose, and while he's overdosing and hallucinating, Kutner needs to laugh at him

As bad as some of the episodes have been this season, I have to say

Y'know, I was thinking the other day...

Law and Order was on for 20 years, and now we're down to just SVU.

With the shape NBC is in, I can see SVU surviving until the next Law and Order boom. Hell, NBC pretty much admitted that SVU is coming back for season 14 because the network's overall ratings suck, but SVU's don't. A first run Law and Order may be on forever.

And to drag it back around to House, a show like House can't survive with the title character. But as you said, with a procedural they can rotate out the cast as needed (like when contracts get too expensive).

I loved his Bertie. And I didn't mean that to sting.

this season has been crap.
the Asian chick is boring as hell,
and the short bald guy needs to get over himself (the "booo hooo i cheated on my wife" thing has been getting old for a season or two)

House himself is still interesting too.

2012-02-08 11:56:34 PM

wildsnowllama: Suicide.

My prediction for House's end.

House will realize that the crash was fatal, and that his memories of the last 8 years were nothing but a hallucination created by his dying brain.

/Nah; that would be stupid.
//House will hook up with 13, fall in love, and then help her end her life.
///Or, he'll marry Wilson and live happily ever after.

rogue49: He falls in love with a young girl and goes to Hawaii to have a family...

Cameron comes back and gets him. Since Cuddy's out of the picture, it could work.

/He is not going to die, dammit.

I'm really hoping as the ultimate in finales that House kills himself......

and then he wakes up in bed with Stephen Fry to discuss a terrible nightmare he had including the American accent.

See, why'd you have to go and do that?

I don't really watch House, only seen a few episodes, but since everyone is talking about his suicide, I could definitely see it. The scene where he was contemplating jumping to his death by the pool while "My Body is a Cage" was playing was pretty awesome.

2012-02-09 12:09:50 AM
Suicide? How predictable and mundane.

I'd rather see House end up happy, and retire from medicine to travel the world with a crazy, perfect woman who enjoys solving riddles with him.

Suicide. Jeez. Why not just having him go postal and kill everyone on the show? If he kills himself, I'll be very disappointed.

Summer Glau's Love Slave: wildsnowllama: Suicide.

13 already fell in love with some chick, and they ran off together.

A more probable scenario has Chase offing House, and perhaps Foreman as well. Putting them both out of their misery.

2012-02-09 12:20:12 AM

Summer Glau's Love Slave: House will hook up with 13, fall in love, and then help her end her life.

You know, a double suicide would be kind of an awesome ending. 13's disease progresses to a point where she decides to end her life to avoid the pain and suffering. House discovers her making the attempt and stops her. After a long conversation about life and death, not only does House assist 13 in taking her life, he takes his at the same time.

Does he do it in Shakespeare face so we get a bit of R&J?

If you want to appreciate Terra Nova, watch The River. It's a good lesson that no matter how bad things seem, there's always something worse.

Ooh...I know. House wakes up from a dream to find he's not a doctor at all, but really Lieutenant George, lying mortally wounded on a battlefield after going over the top. Kinda like Newhart, but far more kick ass.
