I know, the FA hates him. But somehow I don't see them signing Redknapp, either. Hiddink has a good-looking international resume.

Holy Hell. farking Tabloids. Capello was easily the best manager England had since Sir Bobby Robson. If he can get that underperforming bunch of coonts to perform as well as they have in qualifying tournaments, he should be the one to lead them in tournament finals.
Not sure if the FA will pick the press' favorite, 'Arry, simply due to wanting to appear squeaky clean in regards to his recent court case. (I know he was found not guilty, but the appearance of impropriety exists...) especially after was all the hullabaloo with Venables financial issues back in 1996.
Would like to see an English manager, but there are really no top level ones any more. Not sure who would want the job considering the baying bloodhounds of media scrutiny that is the English press. Guus Hiddink is seemingly always available for these sorts of things, and it's be nice to read the Daily Fail ranting on yet again about foreigners destroying the integrity of the English game. (that integrity has won fark all since 1966, so who cares?) Don't know who else is linked with the job (Scolari? Mourinho? Hell, I'd like to see the English press go apoplectic if the FA went and appointed a German manager, so maybe they should try and poach Klinsmann from the USMNT)
Also, the FA was right to strip Terry of the captaincy (at least temporarily) while the Ferdinand investigation is ongoing, so if Capello's really quitting because of that, as claimed, he's a gigantic pussy. And I'm not just saying that because I think Gerrard should have been the captain after Beckham no longer had the armband.

How is he allowing the FA to save face? he pilloried them for taking control of the team behind his back, and he was right. Terry's reputation aside
nothing
should've happened at all until the trial, and certainly not without Fabio's consultation.
Never mind the 'English Manager' masturbation that everyone's caught onto, it's the meddling that the FA carries out with impunity that any manger should have problems have. Harry will get that meddling. Or Venables (WHY is he on the radar again?), or anyone else. The problems with the team are much more than on the field.

I hope England do get an English manager. Either 'arry or even Martin O'Neil. Whoever takes over as manager, I hope they have enough balls to get rid of the "old guard" and leave off Rio, Gerrard, Lampard and Terry off of the trip to Europe, and bring in more young blood.

Martin O'Neill is Northern Irish. People from Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland tend to get very, very angry when you refer to them as English.

Capello is already on record stating he would never coach Inter Milan after a career in which he has both played for AND coached AC Milan and Juventus. Besides, it is a little too soon to bail on Ranieri if you ask me.

We don't get much European football in the states so I don't know the drama. I do enjoy the sport and watch the Premier League when I can.
Catch me up on the drama. It look like from the article, the FA sacked the coach's captain. The coach took offense and also saw the legal clearing of another fellow as a threat, so the coach resigned.
Is there more crazy history to the coach?

First of all, how do we know that the FA did this "behind his back?" For all we know, he was in on the meeting and making a case for not sacking Terry. The FA let him have his say but sacked him anyway and, afterwards, Capello voiced his displeasure on RAI.
I'll agree with you if the FA did this without consulting him about the situation; but that's open to speculation whether or not he was involved in the first place.
Also, in their current state of relations with FIFA and Sepp Blatter, it wouldn't look good for the FA if they were pillorying Blatter for his ignorant comments while having someone who allegedly made racist comments as the national team captain.

The magic word. If he's found not guilty they've stripped him of the captaincy for no reason and justified Fabio's anger. Point taken about whether he was involved, granted, but it's still overreaching bullshart from the FA. Where does it stop - are they starting to 'recommend' who to pick?

In a lot of jobs if you are accused of serious misconduct then you will be suspended while it's being sorted out and the England captain needs to have the respect of every member of the dressing room. With the court case hanging over his head then he can't have the moral authority over his fellow professionals to be an effective captain.
What should have happened is Terry should have "voluntarily" given up the captaincy until the court case is over when it was announced he would be taken to court. To do it now is a result of a tabloid witch hunt. It was not a case like the Evra/Saurez case as any of his fellow players can lip read what he said. All in all the FA are twunts for doing it now, Capello is a twunt to stand by Terry and Terry is a twunt for putting himself before the team.
As for the manager what we need now is a turd polisher who will not be afraid of dropping the old has-beens and building up a young side a-la the current Germany team.
Redknapp - The people's choice but so was Keegan (and that was a disaster). Will he want to leave Spurs for the poison chalice of the England job? His only real achievement is an FA cup win.
Hodgson - Has the international experience and a better CV than Redknapp but is not liked by a lot of fans (who know next to nothing)
Pearce - Dose not have the experience at any level to do the job.
Allydice - Big Sam went for the job last time round, is a very progressive manager when it comes to training, has a real footballing brain and is the best turd polisher in the country. Has a really bad rep amongst the fans and media because of the more practical tactics he has used in the past in bad teams.

Fat Sam would be worth it for the shiat he'd talk on his twitter account. I'd rather see him than 'Arry or Woy just for the entertainment value. Doesn't really matter in the end 'cause England has absolutely no farking chance as usual.
