After the housing bubble collapsed, the batshiat insane economy went skidding completely into the shiatter with the rest of us. Screaming heebie-jeebies goes for a buck-fifty now, you can get a guy in a straightjacket to pee on himself for less than a dollar, and standing on a corner screaming about the end of the world only gets you around twenty cents after taxes.

Things are looking up, though. The classified ads are starting to fill up with positions for house lunatics, and I had the panhandler on the corner offer to exorcise my demons in exchange for two beers and a chick tract, which marks a 14% uptick on the market.
